• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    farewell

Four is a pretty small sample size from which to decide to be a non-participant. You've averaged about a post a month since joining and I guess I've missed them all. This is a very knowledgable group and sometimes all that knowledge just can't be contained.

Do I need an extended warranty?

Start negotiating I would negotiate with the dealer. This is a very, very negotiable item that can run from as low as $750 through Bert's Mega Mall (even if the factory warranty has expired) up to as high as $2,500 from some dealers for a three year term. Given the low mileage and (hopefully)...

best places to see in N. Georgia going to Deals Gap

There are many great roads to travel in the area. One is to take Highway 28 out of Deal's Gap all the way south to Highlands, NC. (About 140 miles). Hwy. 28 is a great road with lots of sights to see like the Dry Falls.. You could then take War Woman Road west to Dillard, Ga and then come...

    No such thing as....

Besides it looks good I think the back end looks better with the hitch on.

    Break-in period

That advice is for the twin 998 engine, not the triple 1330. However I have always been a believer that you should drive it like you stole it from day one. My apologies I should have noted it was an ST.

    No such thing as....

Would never consider removing the hitch. To me it acts like a rear bumper for the Spyder and I use it to haul the garbage cans out to the road each week (1/4 miles) as well as move my boat trailer (lightweight kayaks) around.

    Oil Pressure ????

I have had a top quality gauge installed on my 2012 RT since the month after I bought it. Over 30,000 miles of driving my gauge registers between 55-60 psi at cruising speed and that is between 4,000 and 5,500 rpm. At idle (1350 rpm) when hot it rides at 20 psi.

New Problem with RT Limited, no help in manual, PLEASE HELP ME

Carefully squirt some WD40 into all the open orifices and wait four hours. If things don't loosen up you may have to return to your dealer.

Garmin Zumo GPS Lifetime Maps Information (Please Read)

Both of our 2012 LTD's with the Zumo 660's were sold to us by the sales rep, stating they had lifetime map updates. When I went to update one of them in 2013 I was told 'no way' and I was charged $90 for the update. Our Zumos show '660NA' as the model under the battery. Guess that must stand...

Your Riding impressions RT VS GL1800 Trike please

Servicing Forgot to mention one thing in my earlier response. Unless you are a DIY service person think about service. Honda dealers (for the most part) won't work on Trikes. Some don't have lifts that can handle two wheels in back and others claim that the kit voids any warranty. Finding an...

    Ultimate seat choice

I have mine with Ostrich trimming and don't notice it at all. One word of caution. If you get the gas filler through the seat model, think twice about chrome. If you park with the filler facing the sun, be prepared for a very hot thigh on the inside.

Your Riding impressions RT VS GL1800 Trike please

You answered your own question here. I have owned and ridden both and would not go back to the triked Wing. I bought a second RT as proof of that. I tried to make the Wing easier to handle by putting a six degree rake on the front wheel to kick it out more, chopper style in order to make it turn...

What Replacement tires are there for front in 165/55R15?

My error. My '12 has 14" tires. Sorry.

What Replacement tires are there for front in 165/55R15?

I've been running Bridgestone Potenzas in that size for about 5,000 miles now with no problems. Both fronts cost the same as ONE OEM tire.

    BRP are you listening?

Bill: I wasn't interested at all in the Spyder line in the early days. Once they released the touring model the RT was the machine for me. So, IMO they didn't lose their way at BRP... they just opened another market and I think it has been quite a lucrative one for them. You still have the '08...

    Things that don't fit

I have come to the conclusion that I am not a genuine motorcycle enthusiast. Even though I have been riding motorcycles for the past 42 years and have run the gamut of brands from Harleys, to Suzukis, to Yamahas, to Hondas, Kawasakis, and Can Ams, I still feel that I do not really belong. There...

    Canadian and US Credit Cards

There were sixteen of us for dinner so that works out to a little less than $70 each and that included the bar bill and the wine consumed at dinner. I thought I got off easy!!!! It was my birthday and our 53rd wedding anniversary (both on the same day) as well as a get together with some old...

    BRP 622 Trailer Internal Tiedowns

I picked up a regular net at Wal Mart and bungeed it across the center of the trailer tying he bungee cords into the hinge mounts. That keeps the stuff from sliding back and forth. I use two plastic milk crates to hold my oil, air compressor, tools, spare gas can, spare tire in a can and other...
