• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    2020 RT Pricing

We completed negotiations on my wife’s new RT limited this morning. We have purchased seven bikes from this dealership over the past two decades so I’m fairly comfortable being the aggressor. I left the salesman with an offer that I knew was over five grand less than the MSRP he quoted but I...

Penny is almost on the road again

Thanks for the suggestion, but we’ll stay with the present handle. You mentioned AnthonyG as head honcho but I thought this was Lamont Bryden’s board. We have known Lamont since his days in Tennessee. I assume he is still active. He is too ornery to retire. :2thumbs: BTW... we closed on the new...

Penny is almost on the road again

Posted this earlier on the welcome members thread...Placed a deposit today on a 2020 Limited RT and once the accessories are in place Penny will be back on the road again. Rick aka Pennyrick We’re signing on with a new user name but we are not new to Spyderlovers. When Penny traded her Suzuki...

    Looking for GA dealer

Missy has been trying to 'sell' the owner on adding the Laser equipment but I don't think they have it yet. Their problem is space. The new Buford store has more space, but I don't know the staff there.

    Looking for GA dealer

You are 30 miles away from Mountain Motorsports in Conyers. Straight down highway 81 through Loganville and then Ga highway 20 to Conyers. They have an excellent tech, Kevin who knows Spyders inside out and their service manager, Missy also has Spyder training. Good folks to get to know.

    Home Security systems. Any suggestions?

This has been an interesting thread to review. We live inside the city limits but on a very lightly travelled street that ends up being an unpaved county road by the time it gets a couple of miles past our house. We live on a few wooded acres with the house being about 450 feet from the road...

Polaris can't be happy with this review.

It is a shame that the Solstice went out of production when it did. Even my 2008 Solstice seems to outperform both of these as tested. At 155 hp with a mushy suspension the Miata just isn't up to the task plus it's ugly. With 173 hp from the Ecotec the Slingshot puts out a lot of rubber dust...

Unusual Questions You've Been Asked About Your Spyder?

Best I ever had was the guy who followed me into a parking lot and asked how the steering connected to the rear wheel. I explained that the bars controlled the front wheels but he would have none of that. "I just watched you turn in here and that thing turned just like my fork lift does with...

Good Dealer / Bad Dealer Service Departments

Chris: Welcome to Spyderland. The idea that you put forth has been talked about for at least the past five years and generally the consensus is that it is not a good idea to post such a list. As our friend from Alaska said, dealers have good days and bad days...... and sometimes so do...

    2012 RT Limited

The nine pin connector is for the RT 622 Can Am trailer. It not only connects the tail, turn and brake lights but also connects to the on board computer to control 'trailer mode' for transmission shifting. There is no other trailer connector on a stock RT Limited. If you are going to just hook...

    Not the Same but Close

Lasted about two weeks without the feel of wind in my face after selling the Spyders. We are out of the Spyder business but while browsing around the other day I found this little gem just being traded in on an SUV. Seems the lady who owned it got it for her birthday 8 year's ago but didn't...

Maybe I'm missing something here but......

I think it all depends what your business model is. If you have the dealership set up as one business where you want to sell products and service is incidental to the sale, the policy may make sense. If your dealership is set up where sales, service, warranties, parts, etc. are set up as...

    BEST Warranty purchase

My experience has been that your local dealer has lots of latitude on warranty pricing. I have seen them priced as low as $750 up to $1,300 for the same BEST warranty. Most recently my local dealer quoted an unacceptable price but when I showed them an email quoting a lower rate, they were...

    Hand Brake

That hand squeeze is not the same as an independent front wheel brake on a two wheeler. You have to put as much pressure on that lever as you do to push the foot brake and your hand and wrist must be strong enough to do that. My wife had one on her RT but we had to move it to the left side...
