• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    2008 GS Gauge Didn't Work......

So it was the 4th of July and I figured it was a good time to take out my old #006 Spyder, the original 2008 GS. Had not been out all year yet, but I always charge the battery every month, have done so since late 2007. And never have replaced the battery. So I turn the key and the gauge does...

My 2014 ST makes a slight knocking noise about 4000 rpm, is this normal?

What octane fuel were you using? There have been times I have noticed some knocking noises as well. It comes and goes. Over the years I paid closer attention to what kind of fuel I was running and where it came from. I wondered if it was a bearing going, or actually slight detonation...

Spyder Rider Killed in crash in Tucson.

I am shocked every single day I am out riding how many people are SCREWING with their cell phone while driving. If a car is driving out of their lane or off onto the shoulder, the majority of the time they are SCREWING with their cell phone. I truly believe it should be illegal to be handling...

    Laser Alignment at Caswell's Cycle

OK gang, I took my 2013 ST-S to Caswell's Cycle in Mora, MN for a laser alignment yesterday. With almost 26,000 miles and my second set of front tires worn out on the inner edges, I didn't want to put a new set of tires on untill we got it squared up. Arrived at 9 AM, I was out the door by 11...

    Fox Shocks and Sway Bar

On a question like this, gathering first-hand user reports from as many of us has to be a good thing. When I first got my 2013 ST-S I was disappointed in the wallowing and lane wandering of the machine compared to the 2008 GS models I was so very used to. I first worked through the air...

Why I am looking forward to Homecoming

Now that we are ten years out, some of the original key players in the development of the Spyder have moved on. For example, Spyder Design Director Etienne Guay is no longer at BRP, nor is Mihai Rasidescu, VP of Spyder Product Engineering and R&D. I had dinner with Etienne just before he...

How many Spyders are over 100,000 miles?

Post #30 by Spyderjockey is one of the most valuable posts we could hope for. Real world, first hand information on long term Spyder durability. Outstanding!

    GS vs F3

Good observations. On an ST (with your feet under you) you can simply stand up at any time. The force of the impacts can be partially absorbed by your knees which have some flex to them, where on an F3 the forces of the bumps pretty much are going to your back with since your feet are out in...

What Shock setting do you use??

BRP has specifications as to what the shock length is supposed to be when loaded, and preload is supposed to be adjusted so the front end geometry sits right. This is not guess and miss, this is an actual Spyder specification on how much preload should be dialed in to achieve the specified shock...

How many Spyders are over 100,000 miles?

One of the questions I am often asked is how long a Spyder will last. So I am curious, how many of you have put a Spyder over 100,000 miles? I know there are a few, but it would be nice to get a better feel for how many units are truly over 100,000 miles. Of course it is possible, but is it...

    GS vs F3

I would suggest you study, very carefully, the four ergonomic diagrams of the four Spyder models posted by Bob (above). This is critical information. The differences in riding positions between the models are very well detailed here. How far you lean forward. What kind of knee bend there will...

Can-Am Spyder Turbo Concept- NASCAR Inspired

You might be surprised.......I do have a lower serial number (earlier unit) than any of you........and I was riding Spyders for several years before they were released......that should be worth something? ;) I guess I didn't see anything wrong with posting a "cut and paste" press release. Why...

Can-Am Spyder Turbo Concept- NASCAR Inspired

I'd sure as hell buy one if they'd offer it with a turbo from the factory with warranty, and the Sport mode. To that end, I like how you posed the question in that manner. I didn't know if you were going to get it up right at 4 EST/3 CST so I had to make sure it was up as well. Better to...

    Spyder F3 Turbo Concept

Inspired by the Speedway’s racing heritage, this exclusive concept vehicle reiterates...

My Nanny fell asleep on the job

The mods have added "stability" to the vehicle, so the nanny sensors are not sensing anything they are programmed to be scared of. This means you have your machine calibrated very well IMO. Nice job! Sounds similar to what I have been trying to do to my 2013 ST-S, to get it to rail like my...

    FEDERAL EVO 595 TIRES

There are a few that are using the Federals, they seem to like them. I researched them heavily and decided against them, as they are primarily a "drifter" tire and many users reported terrible wet traction. I personally do not like the characteristics of a "drifter" tire on the front of my...
