• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Driver backrest recommendation

I chose to put a Utopia on my RT. Height and angle adjustments, matching the color and stitching on the seat, all for just over $300. The BRP backrest didn’t adjust when I was looking for a backrest but that function can be added now but you are still paying $450. Your choice.

    Enclosed Trailer for RT Questions

My power dolly is a Ford F-250. . At the time power Dollys ran $4k and I was too cheap to put that kind of $$$ into something that I would only use on occasion. I already had the truck so that’s what I use to move it. FWIW, I did see a manual dolly meant to move heavy trailers...

    Enclosed Trailer for RT Questions

We have a 7x14 Pace trailer that we used to haul the BMW’s. It will hold one Spyder but not two. This is a motorcycle optimized trailer so it sits a bit lower than a standard cargo trailer. The unit has dual wheels and electric brakes (required when the total weight exceeds 2000 pounds, IIRC)...

    Meanmoe's Pizza To Go

More, more, more... Not the Andrea True Connection but you get the idea... a little music while you read. https://youtu.be/hVZKJt4WzxM 15. I had added a RAM Mount ball to the dash to mount my Zumo 550. I was never satisfied with the mount because the GPS was above the dash and would bounce...

    Meanmoe's Pizza To Go

TricLED wide angle mirrors. Finally had a chance to check them out on the freeway. I’ve got them adjusted so that the inner 20% show the handlebars. That gives a slight window for a small car to hide over my shoulder. Will retest with them set further out (once the rain stops). The shape ape...

Can the RT fit on a certain model truck?

Bob, I agree. I’ve got an F250 and would not want to have the RT way up there. The trailer is a much easier solution, lower cargo cg and, if you’ve got the truck, less cost (if you go open vs enclosed).

Can the RT fit on a certain model truck?

Are you thinking something like a rampage lift to put the RT in the bed? www.ramagelift.com puts the Spyder in rear wheel first. The website looks like it shows a short bed pickup. FWIW, we use a 7 by 14 enclosed trailer to haul the Spyder. Granted it’s a heavy and large trailer but it’s been...

    RT Dash Accessory Bar.

JT’s dash mount here. I had attempted to use just Ram mounts to get my Zumo 550 up and over the dash but the long arm was an inch too short. JT’s Dash Mount adds a spacer that moved the Ram ball up enough that the Zumo plate misses the dash. Perfect.

    Meanmoe's Pizza To Go

Real life stuff has had me tied up for quite a while now. Finally got a couple of quiet hours by myself where I could concentrate on motorcycle improvements. I’ve got farkles left over from our BMW two wheelers that were either removed prior to sale or not installed in the first place. Here’s my...

    2016 RT-L Cover

Winter Storage if you want a full winter cover, I’ve got a BRP heavy duty, lined winter storage cover that I’m not using (it’s been on a shelf in the closet for 2 years now). Send me a pm.

    Zumo 590 discontinued

I’m with CavMan, in that my Zumo550 is still working fine and I will continue to use it until Garmin stops supporting it. Dont underestimate the glove love friendly design. The BRP connect gets around this by using the joystick but you will have to take your eyes off the road to adjust...

    Almost had an accident today

Glad that you are ok. BTDT to a certain extent. Was headed eastbound on a section of I70 in Columbus, OH during a snow storm. The section of road was elevated and curved and traffic was moving so slowly that the rear end of the car broke free and started falling into the curve. There were...

Center 4 7mm Handlebar Bolts won't budge, Help!

I hear you! I bunged up 2 of the bolt heads when my Allen head slipped out. Make sure that you are keeping the breaker bar perpendicular to the bolt

    Best RT-S Radiator Grille "Surprise"?

It happens. I had to replace the grill on my dad's 72 Ford LTD wagon after it ate a crow. I was headed into town and the crow was in the middle of my lane on the wrong side on a hill. I came over the rise and the crow made it about 2 ft off the ground. Expensive crow.

    ARTHRITIS

I'm using Systemic Enzymes like Wobenzym N. https://www.gardenoflife.com/content/product/wobenzym-n/ I can tell when I've been off it (put my bottle in a very safe place and was too stubborn to buy another until I found the open one). Working outside (check in bees, clean chicken coop...

Looks like we all bought the wrong thing

We had a Kawasaki Concours /Hannigan sidecar rig before the spiders. I learned enough to retrain my brain and that made the switch to the Spyder painless.

    Are motorcycle gear manufacturers sexist?

Aerostitch and Motoport are two companies that provide quality gear with armor. Expensive? Yes, but I like my skin.

    Black hills

Parked the camper in a campground near Custer and did day trips from there. Spent 5 days riding the area. Found that Sturgis was pretty dead after the rally so we tended to go to Deadwood to eat at night.
