• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Who's got the best helmet? Post a picture of you wearing it!!!

That's your head shape? I could show you my Arai Profile but it's not going to be comfortable for you unless you have an intermediate oval head per the Arai web site. Long ovals are harder to find.

2015 RT-S Vibration from the Rear End

Many of us have experienced this. Some have added tensioners to reduce the vibes. Search is your friend.

    bmw concept bike

I wish them well with it. The R1200C was a bit of a misfit. BMW probably thought that the R engine would pull in the Harley crowd but it did not. The bike was a blessing for riders with shorter inseams but the C had issues of its own. Many owners complained about the peeling chrome. This concept...

What Should CanAm Have made Stock ?

My vote would be for a hand brake. If nothing else, this gives me a bit quicker reaction time as I can cover the brake lever with two fingers while riding. The question will be how to integrate it into the system. I assume that the ABS pump already has 3 cylinders as we have calipers and sensors...

Questions concerning 2015 sponsored Spyder Events

Ima member of both the BMWMOA and the Georgia Club. Each group holds annual rallys but I would not expect the GA Mountain Rally to be anything like the MOA rally due to the number of attendees. The difference is a factor of 10. Would I expect the BMWRA to do it same? No. Until we have a national...

    Roadster Renovations saying goodbye!

Sorry to hear that. I've had my own "divorce" from Amazon. I had a new in box item that I never used (motorcycle accessory). I attempted to sell it but ran afoul of manufactures minimum pricing. How can I be subject to minimum pricing for new, but out of date stock? F**k them.

    array failures again

I'm seeing it also. Two warnings posted at the top of the page. What got me was the forum listing page. All of the "last poster" tags at the far right of each block contained one of two pictures, not profile pictures, pics from somewhere on the site. Every sub forum had a picture. I cleared...

    best cooling vest

Bought two Silver Eagle cooling vests for us many moons ago. Never used them. The ATL is just too darn humid to make a difference. The Silver Eagle head silks are another matter. They are fine weave, wicking poly and do wonders at keeping my head cool. The beanie pulls sweat from my hair and...

    iPhone 4 as music player

I have a 32GB 4S and the phone integrates just fine. Volume up/down and skip forward/back work as they should. I would offer, as others have, that it's either the phone or the cable.

    Sena vs Chatterbox

I attempted to use a set of the GMRS Chatterbox units. Gave up after a couple of months and sold them at a bit loss. Did OK with the Cardo but that was first gen and distance was limited. Went back to a hard wired J&M system but gave up on that due to my riding partner (hearing issues). Bought...

    CBs

I used a J&M CB2003 and Firestick antenna on my Kawasaki Concours for several years. That combo worked well. It seems that the BRP unit is hit or miss. Search out the thread for extra chassis grounding for the newer units. I have no personal experience with the BRP unit, I've just been watching...

    Got a I Pod/I Phone Tech Question?????

I have an iPhone 4 and it has the 30 pin connector. Others have reported that the Apple brand 30 pin to Lifhtening connector does work with the Can-Am system. The recommendation is to get an Apple branded item to insure that you get both audio from the device and power to charge it.

    BIG Rider needs a jacket

Joe Rocket Phoenix 4xl may be what you are looking for. Being in TN, your summer weather is a lot like Atlanta (unless you are in the Smokies). Ive ridden with a JR Phoenix for many years but have never had to test its impact or abrasion characteristics. Heres a sizing chart from...

    Bluetooth basics

You will require the Sena SM-10 Bluetooth transmitter in order to send the radio (and GPS if you use the CanAm wiring) to the headsets. There is a wiring harness that is required to connect the two. Your choice is pay $250 for the OEM kit or make or buy a hand made harness. FWIW, we use the...
