• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Headset question

You can mute the radio/iPod while still able to hear the CB, and conversely the CB can be muted (i.e. turned off) while still able to hear the radio/iPod. There are times that I get a lot of CB static and don't have the need to use it so I mute the squelch which basically turns it off.

    Elka shock settings

I think I'm gonna have to give Elka a call after reading this because I don't think my stage 2's are setup properly. After riding to SITR and taking Hwy 1 with all the twists and hairpin turns, my arms and shoulders were killing me the next day (tire pressure was within recommendation). The...

    helmet speakers

It's a very cool idea and concept, but unfortunately it doesn't work well with motorcycle helmets. Here's what I found in the FAQ section: Does the Shake work with a motorcycle helmet? Not really. More power is required to overcome the combination of helmet weight and ambient motorcycle noise.

Question for those who has an IPOD

I use a first gen iPod touch on my 2011 RTS SE and it does not charge once the key is turned off. I've had the battery on the iPod completely drained and it will start right up once power is restored it (i.e. key turned on). The 12v socket on the opposite side of the iPod connector stays hot...

MAYBE THIS WOULD WORK FOR YOU TOOOOOOOOOOO !

Awesome idea BlueKnight! I took this one step further and went from this: to this It fits on the BRP oil container perfectly and now I only have to carry the small top instead of a long neck funnel.

    Profile Picture

You'll need to install TapaTalk. I think it's $2.99 for the basic version and it will allow you to upload pics, but you have to upload using the app instead of Safari, or whatever browser you use.

You'd probably have better luck selling it on the For Sale forum. Good Luck on your sale.

    SEAT/PAD AND TANK BAGS

Check the For Sale section here, someone was selling an Air Hawk recently, pretty cheap, and it might still be available. I use an Alaska Leather sheepskin pad along with a Freedom Air seat cushion - more cush for my tush .

    Cruise control issue

I have heard of this happening when not using the BRP trailer harness. There's another thread here where someone has this same complaint. I towed a non-BRP trailer to Colorado, using the BRP harness, and had no issues.

    Radio question for the experts

The headset that the parts guy was trying to install in my helmet was too big and he said he would have to send the helmet to J&M to have them cut holes and install the headset, so I never considered that I may not have a factory headset and cord. However, when I picked up my helmet, all of the...

    Radio question for the experts

I have the same issue with my radio. When I mute the radio and turn the RT off, upon restart, the radio volume is raised (I think at the same spot it was when I muted), then I hit the volume up button and the radio mutes...hit it again and it goes back to the volume it was. So now, before I...

    RT-S wiring harness

It took me and a friend 3-4 hours, including installation of the hitch. Unfortunately we didn't do a video, but you should expect to remove ALL panels from the left side, including the saddlebag. Keep track of each screw and where it went. I ended up with a sticky latch and had to have my...

    Cup Holder

You can't put a picture of a homemade product out there and not tell us how you did it! :lecturef_smilie: That looks like a bicycle water bottle holder, is that correct? Can you tell us what you bought and how it's mounted? Can you also post another pic from the other side of holder? It...

    Motorcycle license

You don't need to have a motorcycle license when traveling outside of California. You would only need one if your permanent residence were in a state requiring one. Don't worry, you're covered outside of Cali .

    Shock-Tek gloves???

Smoky, Spyder3 is right, even though they're rated as motorcycle gloves they don't appear to have additional reinforcement around the knuckles as most motorcycle gloves do. I have a pair of leather gloves that don't have knuckle protection and feel that it isn't as necessary to have riding the...

Installation of GT Racing Stripes on my RS

The hardest part about installing a straight line is keeping the "illusion" of a straight line over all of the curves of the frunk. I eyeballed most of it and it wasn't until I got to the rear trunk that I finally got smart and used a grease marker to mark all of my lines and then lined up the...
