• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Questions---2012 RT-S SE5

I have a 2010 base RT. It came without a liner for the frunk. I have put 2 HJC modular full face helmets in the frunk without a liner. My wife wanted a liner so she ordered one and I installed it. I haven't been able to fit 2 helmets of any size in the frunk since. So BRP is technically...

    Tire Prices Have Gone Up

Maybe this is only true for Texas, but if I order something on-line from a company which has a physical presence in Texas I have to pay sales tax. So if I ordered a tire on-line from Discount Tire I would have to pay Texas sales tax since there are many Discount Tire stores in Texas. Is that...

WOW ! What a trip. I read somewhere that the difference between an adventure and a disaster was attitude. You certainly have the right attitude. I'm enjoying your posts. Stay safe. Cotton

Its official: BajaRon's swaybar is a MUST have for all RT owners!

2010 RT with 2011 RT shocks still set on position 4 after another test run today. Cotton

Its official: BajaRon's swaybar is a MUST have for all RT owners!

I changed my pre-load adjustment from position 4 to position 3 and took a short test ride this afternoon. As you would expect the ride is softer and better - but the handling suffers. Cornering is still much better than with the stock swaybar but there is more body roll and it's just not as...

Its official: BajaRon's swaybar is a MUST have for all RT owners!

The BajaRon swaybar is here, it's installed, and it's FANTASTIC! It came in the mail about noon but I had already removed the old bar so all I had to do was install the new one. I probably spent 3 hours altogether but if I was doing it again, I'd guess maybe an hour and a half. I always learn...

Continued Road Trip Sport City Utah to DFW Texas

Quite a ride. Most of us would think that was a pretty good day's ride in good conditions. Quite a feat in that kind of weather. Good luck and thanks for sharing the adventure. Cotton

    Increased deaths in TN

Bob, I had a friend who suggested that brains should be weighed as a part of the licensing process. ;) He also suggested that the law should require that a person be conscious while driving. Chris, I know from my own experience that even being worried over something such as a family problem...

    Increased deaths in TN

I don't know but I expect that motorcycle fatalities have gone up simply because more people are riding. It would be interesting to see fatalities per year compared to registered motorcycles over a number of years. That said, cell phone use by drivers is the scariest thing I have witnessed...

why not a dual-sport on & off road Spyder ??

You sure got that right! I tried to ride one of the old Honda Big Red 3-wheelers off road once. I think I hit every mesquite tree in Coke County, Texas with one rear wheel or the other. Two wheels are plenty for me when it comes to off road. But I LOVE that picture. Just spells FUN in big...

Always Always Always Rock the Gear!

Looks like I owe everybody an apology. The jackets we wear are Tourmaster Flex model but we've had them for a little over a year and I can't find that model in silver anymore. I am enclosing a link to a (mostly) white Icon Hooligan 2 model but I don't own one so I can't vouch for it at all...

Always Always Always Rock the Gear!

No chance of me going 120 MPH. My RT won't run that fast. My BMW would and occasionally did, but that's really not the point. You don't have to run 120 MPH to need protective gear. Most everyone on Spyderlovers is willing to run the speed limit and that's plenty fast enough to wind up with...

    Jack / lift

I did put the Harbor Freight Lift together and tried it out yesterday. It works fine, lifts the Spyder RT okay and is strong enough to get the job done. There is one problem with it, though, that could be a deal breaker for some folks. There is very little or no control over the speed with...

Always Always Always Rock the Gear!

My wife and I wear Tourmaster Flex mesh jackets in a silver color. Quite honestly, I like the fit and the feel of my FirstGear mesh jacket better but it's dark blue and the light color Tourmaster is cooler in really hot weather. I can honestly say that the Silver Tourmaster mesh jacket is...

MOTORCYCLE JACK ON SALE AGAIN - $59.95

I bought one last night at the Harbor Freight store in San Angelo, Texas. Used the coupon number that lyonsden posted with no problem. Funny thing is that their posted price in the store was $99.99 but when the clerk put the coupon number into her computer, the price came back as $59.99 plus...

    Jack / lift

I just bought this one. http://www.spyderlovers.com/forums/showthread.php?46751-MOTORCYCLE-JACK-ON-SALE-AGAIN-59-95 Couldn't resist the $59.99 price tag - about half the regular price for it. I haven't even taken it out of the box yet but the demo unit in the store looked sturdy and safe and...

UPDATE - Custom Performance Anti-Sway Bar for the RT

Ron, have you sent all the Paypal invoices? I haven't gotten mine. Not trying to hurry you, I know you're doing it on a first come/first served basis and there's no big rush. Just afraid mine might get lost in the shuffle and I might wind up not getting one at all. Cotton
