• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

new lover of spyders with a few questions

Spyder as your only vehicle? I'm too much of a newbie (and not mech-savvy enough) to answer your first 3 questions, but I'll respond with a qualified "yes" to your question 4. Know your area well -- spent two years in Little Rock and a fair amount of that time in/around Norfork Lake. I use my...

Sena 20s powering off while intercom engaged

It's not a battery problem. That was the first thing I thought it might be, but no. (A) They're brand new, (B) I charge them after every ride, (C) When powering up I get the 4 red blinks indicating a full charge. That said, I will try the fault reset just to see if that magically fixes things...

Sena 20s powering off while intercom engaged

I've been happy with my Sena 20s to this point when going it alone -- basically, I'm using it for music, navigation and for occasional phone calling. ("Yep, I'm calling you from my helmet!") My wife and I went out on a ride together this last weekend, so we had our first chance to use the...

New Bluetooth 5 Helmet Communication products

Maybe we should start a club...? I've got one -- just discovered this weekend, so I can't complain about responsiveness yet, but based on Googling it and seeing that it appears to be a known issue with no resolution, I'm not optimistic. I'll start a different thread just in case others have...

Holly, if it is really you, and not Randy, I have a question.

Sorry to butt into what may be none of my business... ...but with a close relative having gone through that exact situation (stroke after a very successful but invasive heart surgery), your question certainly raised my eyebrows a bit. Has there been a change in protocols in the last couple of...

FOBO Users: What low/high range do you use?

Just installed the FOBO Bike for Trike set on my Spyder, and am happy to have a cleaner, easier end to The Great Quest to Check the Rear Tire Pressure. I set up my target pressures at the recommended levels, and only gave it +/- 2 psi for the low and high alarm settings. I live in Texas, so...

How long can I leave my Spyder in the garage without starting it up/taking it out?

Trip = Great! It was really great. My wife and I have done a fair bit of work with people and organizations on the ground in Eastern Europe to encourage/strengthen marriages over the past decade, so we were over in Ukraine, Slovenia and Hungary. Part "working vacation," part reconnecting with...

What about Riders 1st motorcycle being a Spyder?

Another 3-wheel-only ryder About 7 years ago, my wife and I were talking about motorcycling in a sort of vague way -- we'd moved to Arkansas, and driving the state's roads in a car and seeing so many people clearly having a good time on their bikes really registered and resonated with us. The...

How long can I leave my Spyder in the garage without starting it up/taking it out?

Thanks again for the input on this... Returned from our trip yesterday, and fired up the RT this morning for the commute to work -- everything worked fine (and I managed to stay upright in the seat after over three weeks of no Spydering) so I appreciate everyone's reassurance that the down time...

    Tax tip for seniors

Good idea Mike -- piling on to what IdahoMtnSpyder was saying, the context for this idea is if your normal mode of charitable giving made it beneficial for you to itemize your deductions in 2017 and before, but would not do so under the new rules. (Translated, your itemized deductions were...

How long can I leave my Spyder in the garage without starting it up/taking it out?

Title says it all, but some context: - Going on a long (non-ryding) trip, our Spyder will be unused for about 25 days - Spyder will be staying home in our building's parking garage -- it's private, covered and safe, but no electricity drop to our parking spots, unfortunately, so... - No battery...

1/2 Cover for F-3 Limited works great

Holds up in the rain, too. I have the stock antenna so I do use the velcro openings -- every day when I cover it at work. They do the job -- no problems with water penetration through that channel. I've been very pleased with it.

    Helmet question

I like my HJC as well... I have a 3-month-old HJC helmet that I love as well. I got the IS-17 full-face model, which has the built-in pull-down sunshade, and I've installed my Sena 20S in it as well. My only nits to pick with it center on the sunshade -- it could use a darker tint, and would...

    Tech question

Or you could use the built-in FM radio on the 20s The 20s has an FM radio receiver built-in, you activate it by pushing the phone button for 2 seconds and can then seek stations with the jog dial.

Sena 20s at Cycle Gear for $350/2: Deal or No Deal?

Re: Firmware upgrade Yep, first thing I did -- ok, the second; had to link my phone to it and make sure it worked... :-) FWIW to any 20S owners, the current version of the firmware is 1.76.

Sena 20s at Cycle Gear for $350/2: Deal or No Deal?

Thanks for the recommendation Appreciate the helpful tip -- I did reach out to Dave, and unfortunately he is sold out on that unit, which helps to confirm that this really might be a closeout. Wound up buying the 20s from Cycle Gear, and got everything rigged up on my helmet yesterday. Now to...

    Helmet-mounted 3rd brake light

"Investor" in Brake Free This was the first Farkle my wife and I went for, using the incredibly sophisticated logic of there's no such thing as too much visibility. As one of the following posts noted, the schedule shifted on their production, and we're now looking at late 2018 for delivery...

Sena 20s at Cycle Gear for $350/2: Deal or No Deal?

Saw that Cycle Gear is running a closeout special on a two-pack of Sena 20s units, $349.99 for the pair. I've been leaning toward the Sena over the alternatives, and that's the lowest price I've seen thus far. Happy to entertain rants/raves on Sena vs. others, but mostly curious about your views...

    My First Accident - Ever...

Glad you're ok -- hope the Spyder is, too... Doing pretty well to make it this close to 50 without a mishap. Hope you're back on the Spyder real soon.
