• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

How long can I leave my Spyder in the garage without starting it up/taking it out?

a month is fine

According to user manual Can-Am recommends charging battery after a month of not riding. Anything before 30 days is fine. Remember, the battery discharges at a rate of about 1% / day. You don't want the battery drained past 50-60%

5 months of winter

After a long cold and snowy New Jersey winter (5 months of winter :cus:) ......I came home from work early to day:D and uncovered my '16 F3-L, inserted the key and said a prayer:pray:, turned the key, and was pleasantly surprised by the computer coming to life:clap:. NOW how do I start this thing??:banghead: ECO... Starter... no... kill switch.. starter...:ohyea: reverse.... throttle.. BUZZZZZ.:yikes: what the (oh parking break). Give me a few days to get the hang of this again :2thumbs: :spyder::riding:

Thanks again for the input on this...

Returned from our trip yesterday, and fired up the RT this morning for the commute to work -- everything worked fine (and I managed to stay upright in the seat after over three weeks of no Spydering) so I appreciate everyone's reassurance that the down time was not going to be a problem. Looking forward to getting out on the open road this weekend, hopefully.

Trip = Great!

So... How was your trip??

It was really great. My wife and I have done a fair bit of work with people and organizations on the ground in Eastern Europe to encourage/strengthen marriages over the past decade, so we were over in Ukraine, Slovenia and Hungary. Part "working vacation," part reconnecting with friends, and part pure tourist fun -- it was our first time in both Ukraine and Slovenia, and Budapest is our favorite city on the planet. Thanks for asking.

When I put ours up for the winter (4 months+), I will wash it,put Stabil in the fuel, ride it to the gas station and top it off, pump the tires up to about 40psi (prevents flat spots), plug in the battery tender, then I don't start it until I know I'm going to be riding it. You can take any part of this equation and modify it anyway you want. Or you could probably do none of it, come home off your trip, put the key in it and it will probably run like it did before you left. Some people have that kind of luck, I don't. If something is going to wrong, it will! Good luck! Mac:doorag:
