• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Spyders in Northern CA? Upcoming Ride? (Roll Call)

No. Cal Ride Depending on my schedule I'd be up for a meet & ride. Maybe we could get a local dealer to let us meet at their shop? So far I've not been impressed with the Bay Area Dealers, but this could give some dealer a chance to promote themselves. Drop me a e-mail and let me know what...

    backfiring,poping

:agree: I've been trying to get my dealer to order them and he says that he hasn't heard of this problem. I have 5K on my Spyder and it sounds like an old Chevy I had with an exhaust manifold gasket leak. I suggested that my dealer check the forums but he refuses to do so because he doesn't...

    TWO-UP Riding ?

:agree: I believe my wife would agree with SpyderDeb's opinion. I ride very agressive when by myself and must take a much slower riding style in the corners when two up. Some people like to shift their weight and lean in on the corners and others like a more upright position. The rider must...

    The Big Question

:agree: The forums magnify the problems of a few. The Spyder is a fantastic machine for the money I don't think youo can go wrong with either the SM5 or SE5. It just depends on personal preference. I have over 5K on my SM5 and my battery has gone dead on my 06' BMW R1200RT due to lack of use...

    Looking for a Mesh Jacket

Mesh Jacket I've used the Joe Rocket brand for several years. They have a light liner that can be removed and have extra pading in the jacket at all the right places. Back, Shoulders and Elbows. The price was reasonable as well. I bought my first one for a trip in Florida for BiketoberFest in...

    Bone Dry No More!

Coolant Leak That was the same place my Spyder was leaking from. It only took a slight turn to tighten.

Just curious-why did you buy a Spyder?

:agree: Ride it like you would a Quad on the dirt. I still have two wheelers but I must admit they have set since I bought the Spyder. I'm just turning 5K on the Spyder and I've had it since September.

    locked kews in the trunk

Locked Key's Funny thing I just did that yesterday as well at the IMS Show in San Mateo CA. I had to have my wife bring the extra key up. I tried the tip of pulling on the cable but that did not work for mine.:( I put my key in my M/C Jacket pocket but yesterday I placed my jacket in...

    BRP Ultra Touring Windshield

Substitute Windshield I couldn't make up my mind on aftermarket windshields or wait for BRP's. I have replaced the windshield on my R1200RT with a aftermarket and had put away the stock one. I dug it out and it looked like it belonged on the Spyder. I just drilled some new hole to match the...

BUT HOW DOES IT HANDLE IN CORNERS?

IF you are needing to fight your Spyder in the corners you are not riding it correctly. I compare the Spyder to the sport quad I used to have. If you want to corner fast you need to "hang off" in the direction of the turn just as you would do with a Sport Bike not just lean. Try hanging off and...

    Spyder Cruise Control

Cruise Control I've also installed the cruise control from Australia and it is so far the best investment on my Spyder. I commute on average about 300 miles a week on freeways and this allows me to switch hands or not constantly hold the throttle. It also has improved my gas mileage by 2 to 3...
