• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    SPEEDOMETER ERROR

You should keep in mind that the GPS (signals from the GPS satatlites) that we "civilians" get to use is nowhere near as accurate as the GPS signals that the military uses (otherwise any terrorist using a GPS unit purchased at Best Buy would have an accurate targeting device). I was told by a...

On my Spyder; Limp Home Mode, DPS failure, VSS, and CEL on the way home tonight..

It is funny how everybody suggests putting foam under the top of the fuse box lid to put some pressure on the relays. My 2008 SE5 manufactured in July 2008 (as per the VIN sticker on the swing arm) came with foam already installed in the fuse box lid. Could it be that BRP was aware of that...

    motorcycle endorsement

Bruce I considered the idea of buying a two wheeler to practice on and take the m2 test BUT the cost of the bike and the insurance makes it somewhat impracticle to do. My hope is that by the time the time draws near for me to do the M2 exit test the colleges will have programs available. Time...

Director thanks for the clarification. Seeing as I have my M2 and will at some point in the future need to do the M2 exit test (on my spyder) to get my M restricted M license I pay close attention to this issue. I would prefer to take my M2 exit test through one of the college courses but I am...

    motorcycle endorsement

Starcruiser I was under the impression that here in Ontario you could do your M2 exit/road test on a trike/spyder but you would get an M license with an M restriction on it meaning that you have a full motorcycle license but you can only ride three-wheeled bikes and the lower speed bikes likes...

Can-Am Passenger Seat Bag - Worth the Money?

IMA RIDER I have the comparable Nelson Riggs bags (sadlde and tail bag) and am really impressed with the way you have the saddle bags resting up high on the grab handles and teh way you use the long velcro straps to hold the tail bag and "stuff". I never thought about using mine that way but...

New unit conversions will be available starting Monday

Magic Man this is just one more example how you bend over backwards to help any and all of your customers, talk about customer service ! Now if only bigger companies that manufacture, say unique three wheelers, were able to provide the same level of customer service that you do, the entire...

    bolt threads

I thought about those but chose the d-ring head instead. My reasoning was that with the d-ring head I could very quickly, without any tools, remove the body panels (i.e. on the side of the road). The button head ones will still require you to use a tool. The only real benefit gained from the...

    Lumbar Support Belts

Bonecrusher I have read some of the studies pertaining to this. While I can agree with the premise that in the long run they are more of a problem then a solution, I am not talking about wearing a lumber support belt all of the time, everytime I ride. I am talking about wearing it for the one or...

    Lumbar Support Belts

I am planning on one or two long rides/trips this summer and wanted some feedback on lumbar support belts. I currently have the BRP stock seat and the 1 inch BRP riser and Kewlmetal highway pegs. While this setup works well for 95% of the riding I do (commuting to and from work) I find that when...

    bolt threads

Joe I ordered mine from Kurvygirl.com http://kurveygirl.com/shop/product_info.php?products_id=55 They come in packages of 10. Basically what you end up doing is replacing the BRP threaded clip that the screws screw into with the clip for the DZUS fastener. There was some very minor...

    bolt threads

I actually replaced as many of the screws as I could with Dzus fasteners. Now I can have all of the plastic body panels removed within about 1 minute. Where I really find the savings in time with these fasteners is the removal of the underseat pan. Instead of having to remove 7 torx screws, 7...

    BRP's Target Market

First of all unless you were actually there and the words were said to you what you are passing on to everybody is called hearsay. We all know how a story or a recounting of a conversation changes from one person to the next to the next. Unless the conversation was between BRP and you I would...

    spring/gear position sensor

As we speak my bike is in the shop having the gear position sensor and spring replaced along with the reservoir cap and brake pads. While my bike has not experienced any major shifting problems my dealer suggested I do the fixes anyways. I tend to agree. I think of it as preventative maintenenace.

Magic Man - Triple Play question

Bonecrusher I do have the MNM triple Play and the NMN middle brake light. I am considering adding hardcases to my spyder and was thinking about how I might be able to add brake lights to the hard cases as well.
