• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

All the 2016 Spyder Lineup info posted here!

Welp... I hate being right another year: colors and price. :( Nice refinements for the F3, but those bags and shield on the F3-T just really goof the design (the F3 is *already* an acquired taste, the additions corrupt the lines even more IMO). And another year for the RS as-is. Oh well...

what exactly does the nanny do???

Best way to describe how the Nanny feels is recall those old amusement park car rides that go around the track on a metal rail, yet still had some play in the wheel to make you feel like you were actually driving? It's like that. One moment you're going around the curve, the next moment you...

    2016 Spyder...what's your guess?

Paint and price, nothing else. :( Off year, guys. NEXT year will bring something dramatic.

    Sena 20S Anyone?

My GF and I have had a pair of SMH10's for 3+ years now. Sometimes a little tricky in pairing, but otherwise, very happy with them, would buy another pair tomorrow. :D Bought my brother a 20S this past Christmas. VERY tricky in pairing, and worse, it's impossible for him to update the...

    2016 Spyder line-up

Every year we play this game, but this year, I'm not all that motivated. Been burned too many times by teases. My vote too is nothing but colors and price creep. :( That said, I *do* think BRP is considering getting back into the two-wheel game, there have been too many rumors in the past...

BRP a no show at SITR

To paraphrase the emerging corporate line: "BRP only promised to sponsor events, not attend them"... Ummm, what the heck is with this goalpost moving? That was absolutely, positively, NEVER the impression that was given by anyone affiliated with BRP when the multi-rally plan was announced...

    I don't have a hoodie....

Need a hoodie? They make Kevlar-lined hoodies with elbow, shoulder, and back armor now-- I tried this on, it was VERY comfy. http://www.gogogearla.com/armored-kevlar-hoodie-mens/

Jalopnik post on the Spyder F3 today

Interesting post there that inspired a comment by me... which ended up as their Comment of the Day! :firstplace:. http://jalopnik.com/tri-curious-i-rode-the-can-am-three-wheeler-and-felt-f-1719642690 http://jalopnik.com/comment-of-the-day-in-defense-of-the-can-am-three-whee-1723751704

    Uncomfortable cornering

This, X100. Don't know what the Nanny feels like? Ride in an ever-tightening circle in an empty parking lot until it engages; you'll be in a safe environment for it. You don't need to go fast-- 15-20 mph is *plenty* to get it to kick in. It'll feel weird the first few times, but eventually...

    Spyder value depreciation

Disclaimer: in general, I take the "Zen" attitude to depreciation, i.e. that's just the price you pay for fun, more or less. That said, nobody kid yourselves, Spyders are awful at holding value in comparison to other motorcycles. Plenty of reasons why, to name but a few: 1. Not a lot of...

Does anyone like the look of the Shamrock wheels?

If I bought an F3, those would be the wheels I would get, I like them quite a bit.

2016 Spyder Line up announcement at sturgis?

Wow... that's it? :( Don't get me wrong, that's one REALLY sharp-looking F3, but this was a big ol' hypeburger o' nuthin'. BRP? No bonuses for your marketing guys this Christmas, m'kay?

Mirror, Mirror on the wall what costs Spyder's most of all?

Trouble is, a lot of regions have dealer monopolies for Spyders, unless you're willing to ride significant distances for (potentially) lower prices. Unless you're blessed with multiple Can-Am dealers in your area, you ARE at the mercy of your dealer's pricing. :banghead:

Review of F3 in today's Wall Street Journal by Dan Neil

Nice review, but it's clear nobody explained to the author the "500 or so miles" theory of transitioning from two to three wheels. OF COURSE the Spyder feels like its trying to kill you when you go ahead and try to ride it like a motorcycle, duh! :coffee: But yeah, that comments section goes...

2016 Spyder Line up announcement at sturgis?

This, X 1000. Popular perception of the Spyder-- judged by anecdote in person and on-line, but PLENTY of anecdotes over the years-- is that the typical Spyder owner is one of the following: 1. Unwilling to ride a motorcycle due to fear: "Sorry you miss out because you're too scared, you should...

2016 Spyder Line up announcement at sturgis?

LEANER LEANER LEANER  Sorry, had to be said. :joke: Actually, I still think that at some point BRP *has* to put smaller displacement, cheaper RS replacement. Whatever model efficiencies may be gained by going the 1330 route for the entire lineup is VASTLY undercut by the price jump such...

    Riding Weather

Mid-Atlantic (Virginia/MD/West Virginia) weather's not bad for riding, it's usually 3+ season riding here, as long as you don't mind the rain every now and again. About the only months I don't ride all that much are January and February-- we definitely lose a lot of the mountain riding in the...

    Trike Training

Best classes in the Washington, D.C. area: http://www.apexcycleeducation.com/. Pricey, but first-rate, I've taken both their three-wheel and two-wheel BRCs, both offer DMV waivers for Virginia (both riding and written tests) and D.C. (riding test only). FYSA, as of a few years ago, Virginia...
