• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    2011 RS SE5 in Silver?

You have an RSS, Phily.... hence the blacked-out Frunk lid fenders and black wheels too. :-) - Michael

    2008 GS Ignition Switch removal

That's great you got it open... but if the problem isn't in the latch assembly then that still means you gotta get the handlebars apart to get to the mechanism that pulls the cable, same place I gotta go to get my seat unlatching issue fixed. For me, I can easily remove the 4 screws that hold...

    2008 GS Ignition Switch removal

Done it before in order to put a spacer in under the handlebars, it ain't no fun! A small mirror is a definite must have as you'll be needing to remove bolts that are impossible to see up under the handlebar cover! I've got to take mine apart again shortly because I can't turn the key the...

    2011 RS SE5 in Silver?

Is it an SE or an SM? I personally prefer the SE... I can shift a standard manual tranny, but why? The paddle shifter Sequential Electronic tranny will up-shift just as fast as you can bump the paddle and it's a rocket ship IMHO! For a sport trike, the 998 V-Twin is the way to go... for the...

2012 RS 17K miles Brake Failure message

I'm waiting on a single-user motorcycle brake bleeder kit to arrive in the mail....should have it Monday. Will work on this issue just as soon as I can after I get it! Using the Spyder as-is right now, the brakes do still work fine after all. Check Engine light for O2 sensor decided to come...

2012 RS 17K miles Brake Failure message

Thanks but I learned about the cap vents many years ago... still, might help others who are new to Spyder's to learn about those darn vents and how they can leak fluid if put on wrong. Bad design that, IMHO. I believe the floats are correct actually, pulling the sensors out from beneath the...

2012 RS 17K miles Brake Failure message

Thanks Grandpot but this does nothing for me. My pedal is firm, I've said multiple times now I can stand on it and still not get to the second "click". Absolutely nothing caused this condition, unless you count sitting parked under my carport while my home flooded, and again, and again, and...

2012 RS 17K miles Brake Failure message

As i posted, it cannot hold another drop in either chamber they are both full to the top of the lip where the caps screw on! It's literally dripping over the edge with caps off, the floats will NOT go up any higher than they are either and they're submerged in the fluid already. The fluid is...

2012 RS 17K miles Brake Failure message

I'm going to go ahead flush and bleed it in the next week or so I guess.... I was keeping up with yearly maintenance on it up till 2016, then in 2017 a new giant subdivision next to my neighborhood started flooding my home every time it comes a hard rainfall (4 times in the house in the last 2...

Brake failure so thinking of these brakes

So I'm guessing this was never resolved? I've been busy since 2016, 4 floods into my home (which isn't in a Flood Hazard, according to FEMA). Long story, but riding my 2012 RS just hasn't been a priority. Gave up on the house just "camping" in it now can't fix it fast enough to beat the next...

2012 RS 17K miles Brake Failure message

And do my floats look right to you? I could have sworn they were once centered in the cap holes they look off to me but I may be imagining it IDK. :-\ - Michael

2012 RS 17K miles Brake Failure message

Ok so, I'm getting the infamous Brake Failure message scrolling across my screen even though the brakes appear to work just fine (but I can't get my vehicle inspection and tags with this message coming on!). So, the fluid reservoir is full both chambers to the very top of the lips, and I've...

    Catastrophic failure

Do keep in mind people, even a brand new tire can fail catastrophically running down the road the same day you had it installed... it only takes a single nail poking the tire, then the tire leaking down overheating at highway speed and then suddenly BOOM the tread comes right off (I've had it...

2012 RS O2 sensor comparison Picture

Where are these vacuum lines? I have my panels off right now trying to find them... while I have good access I'm also unplugging spritzing with WD40 and then re-plugging every electrical connector I come across as I know the contacts tend to oxidize over time (I'm also getting the wonderful...

Replace old parts or buy new?

Well now that is some Cool Beans!!! Leaves you plenty of room to spruce it up and make as many upgrades as you'd like... would sure make a great YouTube series of videos showing how you go about bringing this jewel back from the brink. Think about it! - Michael

$1 US Dollar? Just how did you get that sweetheart deal? :yikes: - Michael

Replace old parts or buy new?

VLADI, the power steering isn't full-time, it's on demand as needed when the bike is running down the road (sitting still idling, you won't feel the DPS unit doing anything if you turn the handlebars back and forth and this is by design). A bad alignment will make them harder to steer though...

2012 RS O2 sensor comparison Picture

Hey guys, I'm getting that same P0130 code on my 2012 RS w/17K miles on it... do these sensors need to be cleaned (or, can they be cleaned?) or do you just have to replace them frequently? My GMC C3500 has almost 300K miles on it and it's O2 sensors are still original and working fine.... I...

2011 RS SE5 not want to go into reverse or downshift

Just using your fingers you can pull the connector to your right and it will unhook from the mount holding it, then there is several inches of extra wiring tucked up in there you can pull it out a little so as to be able to more easily unplug spray it down with contact cleaner then plug it back...

2011 RS SE5 not want to go into reverse or downshift

I'm pretty certain you found that the switches inside the paddle shifter are sealed if you took it apart, you cannot get them dirty wet nor clean them actually. I've seen pics of one taken apart on here, the up and down switches once you get all the way in to where they are... they are sealed...
