• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

**** "DO'S & DO NOTS" for NEW SPYDER OWNERS... ****

Depends on the warranty you purchased. However, a BRP warranty is taken care of at any authorized dealer; just like it is with any just about any manufacturer. Personally, I buy where I get my work done. I find it to be a more "harmonious" relationship, and supports those dealers who are...

**** "DO'S & DO NOTS" for NEW SPYDER OWNERS... ****

If you have a 6th gear, then you have the 1300 engine; in which case you do not follow shifting and rpm instructions for the 998 engine. Instead, look for where shifting the 1300 instructions are. Basically, you will find you can shift at lower rpm's with the 1300. As far as sixth-gear...

    Question

It is in the manual where the clutch locks at 3,000 (+/- 200) for the 900 series 5-speed. The auto down shift may shift at 2500, but that is a downshift, not an up shift. A big difference.

Bi-monthly is my suggestion. Any less then you lose the impact, any more and you have deadline and content issues to contend with.

    Governors

Rev-limiter or governor... tomato tomato... A governor, or speed limiter, is a device used to measure and regulate the speed of a machine, such as an engine. Basically a rev-limiter produces the same results as a governor, so what difference does it make if someone calls it a governor? Most...

    Why the dislike?

Look... this occurs no matter the vehicle. Drive a Ford, make fun of Chevy. Ride a motorcycle, make fun of a trike (and a Spyder IS as trike). I own a Spyder, and a Harley. I ride other brands also, and fly airplanes. As a matter of fact, I ride/drive/fly all kinds of things built by all...

Attempting To Use iPhone While Riding

Look... the bottom-line is; pay attention to what you are doing when riding/driving; and do not assume you are as capable as you may think at multi-tasking when doing so. Too many feel they are superior in their riding/driving skills; when evidence shows they are likely not. Surveys continue...

Potential to Make Some Money - Ram Air Scoops

I do not have it in writing; but it is true. Go to your dealer and tell them you want the air-scoops installed because of heat on your machine. Do not let your dealer tell you otherwise. Force them to call on the issue. If they do not; then find another dealer. There are plenty that know...

I would have to agree with you on this one... I forgot about the TB problems. Good call.

Bad Boy (same as Seibel) Air Horn Install tips video

From what I have read and re-read a dozen times trying to wrap my brain around this issue, I have discovered that DB levels (or claimed DB levels) means nothing as stated by manufacturers. The first problem is how the manufacturer has measured for a DB level. There appears not to be a...

Potential to Make Some Money - Ram Air Scoops

Wow... this is an old thread you have dug-up. Coming direct from the horse's mouth, you are correct in that BRP will provide any RT owner free scoops installed at no cost if they go to their dealer and request them due to heat issues. Some believe they have to pay for the scoops; or have...

Does anyone know why this racket is happening

This sound is a similar sound you would have if one of your cylinders is not firing. While it still may be a clutch issue; I would at least first check to see if spark is getting to both cylinders. If not, you want to change the plug first. If you still do not have spark, then change the...

RT vent kit on 2014 RT

BRP agreed to provide them and have them installed for free for me after a call to my dealer about excessive heat. ZERO charge to me. They were installed yesterday and work beautifully... I had them installed on my '11 RTS. No one with a pre-2014 RT should be paying for these or their...

A Lawsuit Against One Of Your Vacation Stop Restaurants

I have to agree with Bob. I have been to that exact restaurant several times, and the rolls as extremely soft. I would find it very difficult for someone's eye to be damaged; but maybe he was injured somehow. I would pay for his damages, and give him a dozen rolls to go; then send him on his...

Judge fines Greenpeace USA $2,500 / hour

To those with concerns, I would not argue oil is dirty; but complaining about oil while living and benefiting from it during the "petrol-age" would be like living in the "stone-age" and complaining about rocks. So many complaining about oil drilling cannot wait to use the product in one form...

Judge fines Greenpeace USA $2,500 / hour

My bet is none of those people could last a week without petrol-based products in some or another. There just about isn't anything that doesn't use some form or derivative of oil. Just look at the equipment and clothing these people are wearing... made from petroleum. The kayaks were all...

    2016's

It was mentioned that BRP did a big hype campaign about the 2016 release, giving people hope for something other than what they revealed. On some other threads and this one, some fairly bold posts were made about the release in Sturgis. They made me wonder what I had missed so I could be mad...

Judge fines Greenpeace USA $2,500 / hour

I was just admiring some of the protesters Petroleum-made equipment used to suspend themselves from the bridge. I suppose these people live in a tent in the woods and do not use any oil or oil by-product in any way. :roflblack:
