• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

2011 Rear Wheel Static Balance - do it with hub & sprocket fitted, or without?

Since we're on this topic, what is the method for mounting a Spyder rear wheel on a tire balancer? I have my own tire mounting and balancing equipment, and I usually do all my own work. I'm hoping that removing the wheel bearings from the hub would allow my balancer shaft to slide through the...

Potential Ryker Buyer - concerned about the Understeer? Any ideas?

Do the passenger pegs have switches in them??? MY F3S has a switch under the passenger pillion, which I thought was the only passenger sensing employed.

Are there any Bluetooth Tuners available for Spyders?

I talked with DynoJet. There is a PV4 for the Spyder. It's the same unit as for the Maverick. The only trouble is that there is currently no wideband O2 sensor compatible with it. They are working on it, and expect one to be available sometime in the future. I'm holding off on purchase until...

Anyone considered towing a Cargo Trailer with their Ryker?

I put together a trailer almost identical to this when I had my Miata. It allowed for a couple full-sized suitcases, which wouldn't fit in the tiny trunk. I got the 40x48" trailer from Harbor Freight or Northern Tools, and a rooftop carrier. It worked great, and I've seen 120mph with that...

What did you do to your Spyder today?

I did a little more tweaking on the toe. My handlebar was a little off-center, and it took a couple tries to get it right. I made a few toe adjustments and test rides. Zero toe and 1/16" toe out both resulted in a bit of instability at speed, as well as a bit of understeer. I ended up with...

Anyone have experience with Ultra1 Plus 15W50 oil for their 1330? Opinions?

I changed oil to the 15w50 Ultra1Plus synthetic. I got a noticeable boost in oil pressure across the board. It now goes a bit above 50psi at startup, and once warmed up it drops to about 15psi at idle. Of course, ambient temps have been in the low to mid 70's, so I expect it to be somewhat...

I just ordered BUDS w/ Megatech license.

Wanting to adjust my alignment, and seeing that the steering angle and torque sensors should be re-calibrated afterward. I do all my own maintenance and performance mods, many of which will require BUDS, so I went ahead and bit the bullet. Hopefully it will be here in a couple weeks. I'll also...

OMG. I hadn't though of that one. :roflblack:

How does Can-Am Test New Spyders? Should I be concerned?

It's likely a test run by the factory to check for NVH. Most car manufacturers run each vehicle up to speed on rollers. Not necessarily a dyno testing for max power, but to verify smoothness and alignment. I wouldn't worry about it at all. An engine must run under load and at speed to properly...

Any tire companies that make 165/55/15 tires other than Kenda?

Both of those are 60 or 65 aspect ratio. We need 55 aspect ratio for a proper fit and better handling.

Any tire companies that make 165/55/15 tires other than Kenda?

How about this? Hankook Ventus V4 ES H105 in 175/55-15 Tire rack has it for $130, and it's listed as a performance all season, so should have decent grip.

Have any of you added an Aux Tank to a 2020+ RT?

One way that could work is to tee the aux tank into the vent for the main tank, and make sure the gas cap on the aux tank seals completely, without venting. You'd need a selector valve and switch, and an additional pump and regulator in the aux tank, preferably one identical to the main pump...

Anyone else seeing this much Metal on their Spyder's oil drain plug?

Thanks Ron. I'll definitely do that. The main reason I didn't collect a sample is that I'm not certain the type of oil, or how many miles it's been in there. I didn't notice any similar debris in the oil filter. I did keep it, and I'll take a closer look tomorrow. The clutch operates...

Has anyone seen their F3's oil indicator light go on?

The rings aren't the issue. Every second without oil pressure is doing damage to your bearings. I'd NEVER start an engine without oil, and would even be hesitant about cranking it. That half pint of old oil isn't going to make a bit of difference. My new to me 2015 F3S has this same issue...

Anyone else seeing this much Metal on their Spyder's oil drain plug?

Any updates on what happened? Doing my first oil change on my new to me F3S. I noticed a significant amount of metal on the clutch drain plug. It has 10,100 miles, and I don't know exactly when the last oil change was. The previous owner did say he took it to the dealer for service, and he's...

When you did a Cat delete, did you notice any power increase? I did...

I definitely noticed an improvement in it's willingness to rev. Previously, torque would start to fall off above 6k or so. After the delete it keeps pulling up to 7k+. I'd estimate maybe a 3 to 5hp increase. It will likely make much more difference after a tune, though.

Where is Oil pressure sensor please

Ouch. That sucks. Glad you got it fixed before the damage was worse.

What is your opinion on the plastic oil pump gears?

Ford used those too. An old girlfriend had a 351w that had a failed timing set. The nylon teeth were cracking and flaking away, leaving a very loose timing chain. She also had a collapsed lifter due to infrequent oil changes. I replaced the timing set and lifters, and that thing must have...

Anyone have experience with Ultra1 Plus 15W50 oil for their 1330? Opinions?

Ain't that the truth. A while back while I was out of town, my wife's car sprung a small coolant leak. She called me and I told her where I had coolant, and where to add it. When I got home, she showed me where she added the coolant. Yep, she put it in the power steering reservoir. :banghead...
