• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

What is the "WOW test" for the Cluster?

Is there a brake pedal lowering kit for a 2014 RSS?

Not finding anything, I had a pedal modified at a local machine shop. What I was after was a stance similar to what I have on my Honda Super Cub 125 and every previous motorcycle I have owned. If I rest the center of my foot on the peg, my boot doesn't touch the brake pedal. I can simply rotate...

Potential Ryker Buyer - concerned about the Understeer? Any ideas?

All Rykers, pegs or not, have a reed switch under the seat. One of the pegs has a magnet to activate it when the peg is down.

2011 Rear Wheel Static Balance - do it with hub & sprocket fitted, or without?

No way they would do all that disassembly/reassembly for $35.

2011 Rear Wheel Static Balance - do it with hub & sprocket fitted, or without?

They use an adapter on their balance machine. They don't allow customers in the service area so I did not get a look at it. The dealer is a large one in Fort Myers, with many Spyders and Rykers (and Slingshots) on their showroom floor for me to ogle while I wait. I have found their technicians...

Recall - 2017-2019 RT and F3 Engine Output Shaft Can Break!

I had a '90 Chrysler LeBaron convertible. The transmission failed after a few months. I stopped by the dealer to check on progress. The technicians had already quit for the day, but the service writer took me back to the shop to have a look. My car was up on a lift, and there were transmission...

2011 Rear Wheel Static Balance - do it with hub & sprocket fitted, or without?

I checked with several local (car) tire shops, and all said that they could not balance the rear wheel. I had removed the "add-on" bits, thinking that would be necessary. When I took the wheel to the closest Can Am dealer 2 hours away, they said they could not balance it with the "bits"...

2011 Rear Wheel Static Balance - do it with hub & sprocket fitted, or without?

The front discs are not attached to the wheels on my 2014 RSS. The Can-Am shop balanced the wheels only. Am I missing something?

2011 Rear Wheel Static Balance - do it with hub & sprocket fitted, or without?

I take my wheels off to a dealer for mounting and balancing, They balance the rear as an assembly.

Exactly what I do. Odd that it worked once.

Must I Wait for the safety message to appear before hitting mode and starting?

I'm relatively new to a 2014 RSS. I read about this in another thread, that it is not necessary to wait to start the motor. So I went out to the garage, turned the key, immediately hit Mode and Start and it started (in neutral with parking brake on). I've tried to repeat this several times, and...

    Where's my DESS module - 2014 Spyder RT-LTD

PDF maintenance manuals are inexpensive and well worth the money if you're doing your own maintenance.

Can BUDS be used for tuning, or is it simply a diagnostic tool?

Diagnostic, repair, and maintenance, no tuning. It reads active and stored codes, checks and calibrates sensors. Brake bleeding procedure. You can check components ie turn fan on and off, test switches. You can program keys. The license is tied to the VCI (interface module) serial number, so no...

Where can I purchase an OEM 2016 RSS Backrest?

Is this the one that you're looking for? This came with my 2014 RSS. I did a search on the part number 708000713 and found a couple of used ones that had been sold. You may be able to find one but it will likely take a while.

Do dealers have trade in age limits?

I'm curious to hear any experiences that you have had regarding trade-ins and vehicle age. Have any encountered this, where the dealer would not take your Spyder in as trade because of vehicle age? If so, what was their age limit?

New keys, maintenance, and upgrade items, etc. Any tips/advice?

So there are two kinds of keys. The OEM key has a unique ""code", and you use BUDS to program the motorcycle to accept the code. There are aftermarket keys where the key itself is programmable, and a locksmith may have equipment to clone the one key that you have with the "code". There are eBay...

    2019 RTL won't shift up (fixed'ish - only now it's un-fixed again!)

That's odd. With BUDS the switches can be easily tested with no disassembly or even removing from the motorcycle.

Anyone running 80/100w H4 bulbs in their Ryker?

Another consideration is the size of the wire and fuse. The Ryker headlights are on a 15A fuse. Fuse manufacturers recommend a fuse that is 125% of load, suggesting a maximum load of 12A. I'm surprised that you haven't found satisfactory LEDs - many have. I've put them on all my motorcycles...
