• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Scarecrow Art

We were just talking about Scarecrow today because I want to do something to my Spyder to set it apart, and said we should try to track him down. He's done several of our bikes in the past. I think this one was in Sturgis, 1999. So thanks for the link to his website!

Seeing it's "Good" Friday and all....

A good thing that happened to me today was that I was contacted by cousin I haven't heard from for 20 years or more. She found my facebook picture with me on my Spyder and said "what is that thing you're sitting on?"

Bargain bag, I can't afford those fancy ones

Ooo, I think we have one of those from our Goldwing days. Gotta go dig in the garage...

    Motorcycles vs Spyder

Ditto :agree:, me too. I saw hubby's trunk and two-up seat for his Harley stuck in the back of the garage all covered in dust the other day and that's when it hit me that we hadn't ridden two-up since the day I got the Spyder last July. When people ask me why I like it, I say "goes fast and...

    Cow-Am

We saw a Gold Wing done up like that years ago at a Wing Ding. It got a lot of attention.

    dumb scooter

After riding pretty much only the Spyder since last July, this week I bought a little 150 scooter and went to take it out today. Got to the end of the driveway, couldn't find the brake pedal (doesn't have one), pulled in the clutch (doesn't have one - it's a brake) and nearly threw myself off...

    Thinking about wrapping my spyder...

Babymoose - Thanks for the information. I was thinking of going to a couple of our local wrap places, but I know none of them have done a spyder yet, so good to know about the issues with the thicker vinyl. I like the theme of your wrap!

    Thinking about wrapping my spyder...

Any thoughts - good or bad? I've heard some comments that it can't be done on plastic parts, but someone must be able to do it, because there are pictures. Or should I just have it painted? Thanks for your help!

    Closed minded people

crash test?! I read a few pages of the responses to that article and then got bored with the ignorance, but my favorite was the guy who wanted to see the results of the crash tests :hun:

    Secret Motocycle Wave

I use the American Sign Language sign for 3 - thumb and first two fingers - held down to the side. That way it's easy to pull back the thumb and first finger when they don't wave back... :b2b:

    Helmet buffeting (Turbulance)

I tried a couple of windshields and I love the BRP ultrasport windshield (the one with the V cut-out) because I am more sensitive to the buffeting noise than anything else. It is amazingly quiet. Probably won't be much protection when it gets colder, but that's what coats are for...

    Motorweek does Spyder!

Just watching the Motorweek episode that Tivo'd this morning and there was the Spyder! Compared it to that other funny little three-wheeler thing... Spyder definitely looked like more fun (I may be just a little bit prejudiced), even though they compared it to cars as far as gas mileage...

New BRP Touring Windshield coming in spring - see pictures

That's bigger than the windshield on my Toyota! I'd sure like to see someone come up with something in-between, that actually works.

    Trunk Latch Spring

I'm not sure - kind of curious, actually - 'cause I'm a wimp and don't ride in the rain :opps:.

    Trunk Latch Spring

Here's hubby's version of the trunk latch spring. It works like a charm! The spring we used is about 2 inches long. He drilled a hole just big enough for the screw, slid a small washer in the bottom loop (?) of the spring, and put a nut on the back side. When it closes, the spring goes right...

    Did anyone survive the crash?

Having hit a deer in my "other Spyder" (Toyota), I sure as heck do not want to hit one on a Spyder or motorcycle . Gives me a stomach-ache just thinking about it!

    The Funniest SH-t Ever

I'm usually riding behind hubby on his harley or ducati and other riders will wave at him and then leave their hand out while giving me the open-mouth-head-turn (what is that thing?). I always wave back.:)
