• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

What is the actual break-in mileage? First oil-change due when?

As always Peter a good read. I read oil threads, some give it the popcorn. I say whatever floats your boat.

What Brand or Type of Oil Should I Use in my Ryker??? Must it be safe for wet-clutch?

Thanks Peter, I certainly apologize if confused the thread, just trying to clarify in my mind the Ryker brand vs Spyder as to the oil application. Maybe just shut down the thread would work.

What Brand or Type of Oil Should I Use in my Ryker??? Must it be safe for wet-clutch?

OK, got it, it's all in the terminology, Ryker totally "Ryker" and not included in the term "Spyder".

What Brand or Type of Oil Should I Use in my Ryker??? Must it be safe for wet-clutch?

A bit confused, "just don't put it in your Spyder".

    Two Oil Observations ... I think ...

Always pay attention to your comments Ron, an put serious confidence in what you say. Not sure about the 'eye roll', I did quantify my comment that's "just the way it works", so it's not a concern, just a comment, that's all.

    Two Oil Observations ... I think ...

I did finally 'break down' and use the Amsoil metric 10/40 on my recent change. I do believe that I could tell the difference on smoothness of the engine and a maybe a small increase in mpg. I was hoping for some improvement in the 'clunk' to first or reverse gear, but no improvement there. I...

Anyone here been stopped for using a Brake Free unit?

Racoon, agree, I just don't want to give those guys any reason to pull a stop.

Another Dealer Drops the Spyder Line

Would be nice if we had more independent Spyder people out there that really take an interest in the maintaining and fixing the Spyder. BajaRon and Lamonster come to mind, but I just don't think that's gonna happen either.

Another Dealer Drops the Spyder Line

Well done comment Gunner. BRP is a huge manufacturer of recreation vehicles, it's my opinion they just don't need any more business and don't pay much attention to customer service or dealer support. Not a complaint on my part, jus sayin.

998cc Gearbox knocking when cold - could it be the oil?

My 2020 RTL has the distinct 'bump' going into reverse or going into first gear on early start, after that smooth. From that I glean that an oil warm up before 'gearing' is a good thing. I also read that that the cold start is normal.

Just had my 1st service done - they used 4T 0W40 synthetic oil - anyone else?

Giving that dealer a thumbs up for his courtesy. it's rare.

Apple Car Play download initially failed! NOW Finally available....

Oh good, I have a 2020 RTL, I finally gave up on all that BRP loading business. I found that nothing works there, I gave it up and now enjoy the ride. Not looking start anything, that's just me.

Recommend Front Tires for my RT?

OMG, mention tires or oil, and and folks are ready to throw you under the bus. Some people asking redundant questions are newbies or just curious. Can we cut them some slack? Maybe not!

What do you think of the 'New for 2025 - Spyder Canyon'?

Good luck, I'd like to see a review, don't think BRP will cooperate, but there's always hope.

    How Do You Ride?

I do like to sniff the flowers occasionally, but if I find I'm impeding the flow of traffic, I just pull over.

Is it possible to do an Oil Change without a lift?

Agree Paul, we all have choices, I'm old school, and I have Lamonster gold plugs, not a big job to drain. I am buying some pig mats though, I cannot keep oil splatter off the concrete floor. I'm just gonna accept it.
