• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Why doesn't BRP design a stronger Anti-roll bar?

I wouldn’t bother, Ron... The original questions of “why doesn’t BRP design a stronger bar” and “what are the negatives to a stronger bar” have been answered several times above and have either been ignored or disbelieved. If the OP wants further info, there is an easy solution that is...

2016 F3T ACS (Suspension) won't hold air! Safe to ride? Fixes?

Yes, I know that, Mikey, but it was also mentioned in an earlier post that only the F3-L models had a compressor. I was simply clarifying that not ALL F3-Limited models had a compressor, so that some poor schmuck with a '16 F3-L doesn’t spend hours looking for their compressor ;) Pete

Why doesn't BRP design a stronger Anti-roll bar?

Thoasag, you really do need to accept that you are on a Spyder site, not a car site. It will help significantly in getting the specific Spyder answers you are after………BajaRon, who is a swaybar specialist, has answered your question in post #11. Pete

Ran up to BajaRons place yesterday - can't say enough about how great they are!

Well, I booked my RT in at Ron’s for a new swaybar and Pedal Commander and he wouldn’t even come out here to pick it up and take it back... I’m very disappointed. He muttered something about flights to Australia being too expensive! :roflblack: Mind you, Lamont offered the same lame excuse...

2016 F3T ACS (Suspension) won't hold air! Safe to ride? Fixes?

Guys, There is NO COMPRESSOR in a 2016 F3-T (or 2016 F3-Limited for that matter). They are both manual. So it is either a shraeder valve or bag leak. Pete

Why doesn't BRP design a stronger Anti-roll bar?

Since you only want the bare necessities, Thoasag, there are no negatives per se. A thicker sway bar simply means a more upright, stiffer, cornering experience. It’s a personal thing. Oh, and you will be less impacted by passing trucks on the freeway. You should stop calling it a roll bar...

Why doesn't BRP design a stronger Anti-roll bar?

Hahaha……you have taken the OP too literally, AR. He has not used the correct descriptor in his heading. I believe he is referring to an anti SWAY bar’, not a ROLL bar. ;) Pete

If only the Japanese made a reverse trike...

Yes, plus for Honda or BMW to produce one to THEIR high standards would mean that the cost would be unsustainable, Vito - probably half as much again as the BRP Spyder. It would be very hard to make a sale at around $50k USD, ($70k AUD). Pete

    What GPS are you using?

Gee Racoon, I’m not trying to tell you how to live your life:dontknow: ….. I am simply offering an alternative to those who are considering buying some kind of locking device for their XT.;) Pete

Where is the Height sensor arm located?

Yep, that’s about where it is on the ‘20 RT, Martin  Pete

Be careful Riding When it's Too Hot! Hydrate & keep cool!!

Another approach to very hot weather is the one by LD Comfort, Ron. I use them out here in Oz on hot days. They recommend wetting their base layer and putting a solid jacket over it. That helps to maintain core cooling for a fair period, much longer than a mesh jacket. They also recommend a stop...

    What GPS are you using?

My point was that if you get in the habit of pressing the button, removing the XT, and dropping it into your pocket (or trunk) when you leave the Spyder, you will never have to buy, or fiddle with, any kind of security lock... or worry about some clown breaking something trying to steal it...

    What GPS are you using?

Wow, Racoon, that is a very clever, unobtrusive security lock that you got from Lamont. Much better than the other bulky ones I’ve seen. Personally, since popping the XT out of the cradle is so easy with its single press, I simply put it in my jacket pocket, or in my helmet that I lock...

You knew it had to come - there's a Chinese Spyder!

As the owner of a 2023 Chinese built Haval AWD, which I have had for 6 months with zero issues, a first class owners manual, and $40k cheaper than the Audi it replaced but with all the same bells and whistles, BRP had better lift their game if this goes global. It will provide serious...

Wondering what has happened to Murphy Brown? ?

Don’t feel like an idiot, Allen. I’ve been on here for nearly 10 years and didn’t know there was a Murphy Brown on here. My response would have been the same as yours ;) Pete

What are the differences between a 2023 vs a 2024 RT?

Those of us who have been around Can Am and BRP for many, many years have had the opportunity to see BRP’s performance in the real world first-hand, Racoon. It is not exemplary, with their lack of customer focus and frequent shortcuts plaguing, and in some cases, endangering owners - and Ron has...

BLUEKNIGHT911 - Diagnosed June, Passed away due to cancer 23 Oct 2024 - RIP

Sorry to hear this, Mike, but you are one of the strong guys. If anyone can beat this, you can. I, personally, am looking forward to another 20 years of practical advice from you on Spyderlovers. Don’t let me down ;):2thumbs: Pete

Hate putting air in rear tire.....Hate it.

Yes, I’m the same, Allen. Sure, pressure loss is only minimal, but for the sake of a few seconds before you head out, you can be sure that your tyres are not suffering from a slow leak that could well leave you stranded as you don’t have a Spare” on the Spyder. Of course, you could still pick up...

    Sidecar on a Spyder?

But why would you want to lock an old thread, raccoon? It helps keep new threads to a minimum and there is usually good info in them, as Peter says:thumbup: . The only issue is if someone misses the date and asks the OP a question, expecting an answer, and the OP has not been a forum member for...

Most amount of miles/KM you have ridden in one day on the Spyder

Wow…..1457miles (2300km), Ron:shocked:. That’s about half the eastern coastline out here, and most Aussies would do 3 x 800km days (or perhaps 2 x 1200km) even in a car. Very, very impressive to do that in a single hit  Pete
