• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Thursday thunderstorms and 75F. Looking ahead temps will be in the lower 80's. I've been watching the forecast...

Your Weather News @ September Edition 2024

What did you do to your Spyder today?

It has been raining daily for the past few days, but this morning the weather was perfect for a ride. Rode up to a park about 40 or so miles away, right on the Flint River.

What did you do to your Spyder today?

Took a short ride this morning, sunny, upper 70's to lower 80's. I had moved my GPS from the right side of the handlebars to the center, and wanted to see how I liked it. Didn't like it at all. Harder for me to see, had to look down rather than a bit to the right. Anyway, moved it back to the...

Scheduled the 3000 mile service on my 2024 RTL

So, got the 3000-mile service done this morning. Specified full synthetic oil so the final cost was $379.22. I had a $32 credit from Can-Am left from the initial $500 credit for the Apple Play fiasco, and $125 credit from the dealer for the "poker run" when I bought the thing. Each department...

Your Weather News @ August 2024

Currently 76°F with 91% humidity. Leaving in about 30 minutes to take the Spyder in for its 3000-mile service. It will be in the low 90's on my ride home. Looking ahead, mid 90's for today through Mon; rain starting Mon; then mid 80's for the rest of the week, with more rain likely.

Jury is still out on my new Airhawk - how hard is it to find the sweet spot?

I may not have enough air in it, actually. It's pretty flat, nowhere near half full. I'll keep adjusting for a bit more. Yes, I've had the BB for quite some time, used it on my Versys650 and it worked well. Just following some comments about the AH where some said it worked better for them...

Jury is still out on my new Airhawk - how hard is it to find the sweet spot?

I rode 200 miles today trying out the airhawk. Started to get a little "butt burn" around the first hour mark. Removed a little more air, but right now it doesn't seem to any more effective than my butt buffer. I'm going to give it a little more time before I decide whether or not to keep it. It...

What Hobbies do you have other than the Spyder?

Music (songwriting, acoustic and electric guitar), travel here and abroad, camping (RV and motorcycle), Ham radio (Also related Air Force MARS), Photography (digital and film, develop my own B&W)

What did you do to your Spyder today?

Today I "installed" the Airhawk seat pad I recently purchased. Tomorrow I plan at least 200 miles to see how it feels and adjust if necessary. (A day later...). Went about 100 miles south looking for an old covered bridge, and as happens, my GPS steered me wrong. Ended up on a hard packed...

Scheduled the 3000 mile service on my 2024 RTL

Friday morning at the dealer where I purchased it. Quoted a cost of $280-$320 which seems a bit high to me for what is essentially an oil change. I'm taking it to the dealer for the first service primarily because I have at least $125 credit on the books there (maybe $150), so I need to use it...

Do you remove your Airhawk seat pad when you leave your Spyder parked?

For those with Airhawk seat pads, do you generally remove it when stopped for any length of time and away from the Spyder? Seems it would be too easy for someone to unhook it and be gone. I just got mine and haven't put it on yet, but I do plan to not leave it on when away. Just wondering what...

1330 and Gas Mileage Review - What's yours? Anyone else tracking theirs?

I generally get 36-40 mpg on my 2024 RTL. I am a pretty conservative rider, usually within the speed limit and not a lot of interstate riding. Today's ride, about 75 miles on 2 lane roads, got me about 39.4 mpg.

What did you do to your Spyder today?

Nice day for a ride, at least before it got too hot. Rode up to a state park and around a bit on some 2 lanes. It was mid 70's at the time, now 88.8F and climbing. Did about 75 miles.

Your Weather News @ August 2024

It's currently 88F and 56% humidity here in SW Georgia, but it was about 72 this morning when I started my ride. Close to 80 when I returned home about 3 hours and 150 miles later. Rode down to a veggie stand for some tomatoes and squash. Nice day for a ride.

Your Weather News @ August 2024

We got over an inch of rain yesterday afternoon, and another T-storm just passed through. Heavy rain and wind. Brought down a couple of limbs out front, so I have some work to do in the morning. Temp dropped from the upper 80's to 70 though.

What did you do to your Spyder today?

That's a pretty good idea. What did you use to secure it with? I have some reflectix and strong 2 sided tape that I might try for that.

What did you do to your Spyder today?

I haven't been to a HAM club meeting in months. Really need to get back to some meetings... I have kept up my dues though. First time I have ridden at night was Thursday morning, leaving Florida and heading back to Georgia. About an hour and a half until it started getting light. I'd rather not...

What did you do to your Spyder today?

I'm a pretty conservative rider, and most of this trip was on non-Interstate roads. Lots of 55 mph. I did notice that there is quite a difference between running 55 and running 60 or more. Even on 65 mph speed limit I usually kept it at 55. But overall I have been pleased with the MPG - just...

What did you do to your Spyder today?

Hmmm. Thought I posted this yesterday, but I don't see it. Anyway, left at 0510 for home from Panacea, Florida after a 3 day trip. First 1.5 hours in the dark, not fun but the lights on the Spyder are pretty impressive. Stopped for breakfast in Bainbridge, Ga and continued on home. Put around...
