• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

What do you think of the 'New for 2025 - Spyder Canyon'?

You have a great point Peter, and it seems that in the automotive world, there's a more that agree with you. I just read an article today on the subject that states: "J.D. Power says its 2024 U.S. Tech Experience Index Study suggests buyers of new vehicles are “becoming overwhelmed with...

White knuckle test ride - can I learn to like this? Buy newish or older/cheaper?

24k is still low miles on these modern machines. When I was first riding in the late 60s and early 70s, it seemed like 30k was high miles on a bike. Today with modern bikes especially the larger ones, you can expect well over 100 - 150k. When I sold my '03 Harley Ultra, it had 100k on the motor...

White knuckle test ride - can I learn to like this? Buy newish or older/cheaper?

Let me throw in my 2 cents as a "rookie" Spyder rider, a long time 2 wheel rider, and former Crossfire owner, not SRT-6 :^( how's that for qualifications? One difference with me is, I decided I wanted a Spyder a few years back, and I read a lot about them. This helped me build a mental picture...

PedalBox and Pedal Commander - what do they do and how do they work?

Very interesting thread. I always like seeing emperical data, because personal testimony (even mine) can be so varied since we all perceive things differently, and we are subject to a whole series of biases, something advertisers are all to willing to exploit. In this case, from reading the...

What did you do to your Spyder today?

Adjusted my belt tracking, and stuck a chrome Spider emblem to the front, on the top center of the headlight brow ridge.

Rear axle doesn't/can't have a cotter pin - anyone else?

Just did my first belt adjustment on my 2020 RTL - tracking was off giving me a minor belt chirp. When I pulled the cap to loosen the rear axle nut, there was no cotter pin. I purchased the bike used in early July, and thought, ok, the previous owner failed to replace it when changing the back...

Front Pulley Failure! Incredibly Poor Dealer Response!

Unfortunately, these kinds of things are not limited to BRP dealers. Along with vehicle maintenance, I've always done about 95% of my own repair work on my home. I hate having someone come in and do the work because I've had so many similar experiences where the work was so bad, I needed to do...

What do you think of the 'New for 2025 - Spyder Canyon'?

I have only watched the BRP announcement video, and actually like the styling. Captures the dual sport look, albeit a heavier bulkier, dual sport, or even a trike out of a futuristic video game. You know, something you'd ride across the post-apocalyptic, zombie filled, landscape. Also has a bit...

    Sunset Spyder Ride

Nice! Thanks for sharing. Here's a few sunset ride shots of mine. With the temps still in the triple digits here west of Phoenix, I've been doing mostly sunset rides. I have two awesome places where I go, both about a half hour ride away from my home, one to the North, and the other to the...

Refusal to look at my 2015 RT-S by a Can Am Dealer!

No, it's certainly not just BRP. Had the same problem with my previous bike, a 2006 Kawasaki Vulcan Mean streak. I purchased it in 2018 with only 7K on the clock, and it looked like it was just rolled off the showroom floor. I ended up with a leaky front fork seal, and the local Kawasaki dealer...

DID Make My Mind up! - Big D's Mighty Red Baron has Arrived!

Re: Leaning in curves. I have played with different styles, one riding upright, and the other leaning my upper body forward and toward the inside of a curve. Either works for general riding but for more aggressive riding in the Twisties, leaning into the curve works better. What impresses me...

DID Make My Mind up! - Big D's Mighty Red Baron has Arrived!

I'll answer number one. I'm 70, been riding on two wheels for 55 years also, and purchased my 2020 RTL last month. It wasn't long before I adapted the change and absolutely love the Spyder. Now, I did do a lot of reading, and watched quite a few YouTube videos. I also spent quite a bit of time...

What did you do to your Spyder today?

Yes, both local grocery stores have dry ice. We use the frozen milk jugs because they're always ready and essentially free. The dry ice idea might be perfect when my wife requests that I make an "emergency" ice cream run. You know, when it's time to have pie and ice cream, and she discovers...

1330cc How fast can I safely run my F3 for how long?

My original Kenda factory tires on my 2020 are rated H, which is 130mph.

What did you do to your Spyder today?

Picked up a collapsable soft cooler for the trunk. When we moved to Arizona one thing we learned from the locals is to get an ice chest for the car, and keep a couple water filled milk containers in the house's freezer. When you go grocery shopping, you toss the frozen jugs in the ice chest to...

Mystery Tools/parts found in new to me 2020 RTL - any ideas?

I know the first suggestion would be to ask the person who sold me the bike, but the previous owner is no longer around, so I thought I'd try here. Attached is a photo of things I found in the glove box, with one piece in the rear trunk. I know what most are, but not what they are for! The...

1330cc How fast can I safely run my F3 for how long?

So true. We carried my previous bike on a lift on the back of our motorhome visiting 28 states in just under 3 years. First time I rode the freeway near the Space Coast of Florida, I came up with the saying that should be on Florida License plates. It's a bit longer than The Sunshine State...

What should I look for in a mesh jacket? Any Pros & Cons?

If you want something more casual, check out Skull Riderz Road Armor Air Rider armored mesh shirt. It resembles a flannel shirt which may seem to contradict typical hot weather fashion. The material is soft and flexible. When things are really hot, a mesh jacket can be paired with a cooling...

Looking for a male connector to fit this? Need to charge GPS!

2 x on something not being right since all electrical roads lead to the battery, even switched ones. The advantage of a switched connection is to prevent parasitic drain when the key is off and the bike parked. A direct connection to the battery should work. Just about any auto parts store will...
