• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Back home in the desert, it's 110 degrees and climbing. I have the AC set to keep my house at 90 degrees (or lower). Yesterday, my AC came on 8 different times to keep the temp down to 90! Here in Anacortes, it's 68 degrees, which is the high for today. :) We experienced some drizzle this...

@mecsw500, Sounds like the Great Salt Lake is going the way of the Salton Sea... only on a much larger scale. Dryer and overall hotter weather is creating water problem for the SW US. And it seems to get worse every year.

It's a beautiful, cloudless morning here in Anacortes. Currently, 60 degrees, humidity at 76%, 6 MPH breeze. High today will be 72 and the overnight low will get down to 55. Yesterday I did my annual trip to my favorite place in the world, Roche Harbor Resort. This was my "home location"...

Just wondering...... Is it time to get rid of the 2025 Events notification that appears when first logging in? Time marches on.

Anacortes, WA...... 65 degrees, cloudy, light rain on and off all morning, breeze 5-10 MPH, humidity at 78%. A little later this afternoon the rain is expected to increase and last until morning. A good day to stay inside and have nothing on my agenda. Tomorrow the sunshine is forecast to...

Betwixt and Bewildered - how do I get the codes off a 2008 GS?

CopperSpyder is right on. You are experiencing classic signs of contaminated fuel. "Premium" gas does not make it good gas. I suggest you might want to save yourself the time and expense of working with a shop and change your filter and fuel. If you did not previously treat your fuel with a...

    Mysterious drive belt adjustment change

I'd check your sprocket very, very carefully for any burrs. A good way to find them is to wipe the sprocket with a nylon stocking or something similar. Carefully smooth even the smallest burr. Also do a close detailed inspection of your belt. Small rocks and bits can embed themselves in the...

We are still under a heat advisory here in Western Washington. But it won't be too bad where I'm located. Very weak sea breezes helps to keep us cooler. Today's high is forecast to be 83° with an overnight low of 62°. No clouds in sight. The humidity is 65%. It looks like today will be the last...

I left my desert home a month ago to avoid a lot of the summer heat. Today there is an excessive heat alert at home while here on Fidalgo Island we are in an area that is having a heat advisory. My take is that an advisory is a step lower than an alert?!? Fortunately (for me), the advisory is...

Well, I'll be darned! Just looked up the local weather forecast and there is a heat advisory for the area here in Western Washington. Temperatures expected to get to 85-90 degrees in some areas. Wusses!!! They don't know heat! Having dedicated home ACs are rare around here. Most homes now use...

    Random thought for the day

That was before Alvin, Simon, and Theodore came along. Lighthearted fiction to entertain. Even the so-called leader, singer, David Seville was fictional. But who cared. It was all fun.......

New Spyder Sea to Sky and Trailering - will I be able to tie my Spyder down properly?

Glad to read that you have boarding ramps. You'll need them and may even need to get creative with loading and unloading. Also, very important, as Snoking mentioned, be sure to place heavy cloth (or something) in the rear wheel before using any tie down through it. If not, even normal road...

Having a blast, but have you noticed these Spyders Take an Effort To Ride?!

I totally agree. Spyders require more rider participation. Except in slow and stop and go traffic.

Cloudy this morning in Anacortes. Everything is still wet and soggy from the rain we had yesterday. Things don't dry out as quickly as they do in the desert. Guess the 80% humidity has something to do with that. There are some bright spots in the clouds and it's supposed to become sunny this...

Is my Battery failing? Or not?

I'm not a fan of using a maintainer 100% of the time when not riding. I used to be, but learned a hard lesson several years ago. When leaving for an extended multi-day tour I packed the bike, unplugged it, started it, (it started normally) and rode about 350 miles during nice summer weather...
