Weather is cooler here, but the wildfire smoke is awful.
Sky is grey and all you smell is smoke.
Yesterday, Toronto (80 miles East of us) had the worst air quality in the world.
No riding for a while.

Since they got the Iron and Cherry fires under control, the smoke situation in the Salt Lake Valley, at least here in the South East corner, has improved and I can breathe again for the most part.

Let's hope it stays that way, but I'm not holding my breath. It's going to be a long summer to say the least.

It's still hot, dry, and low humidity with dry lightning in the forecast. Never a good combination.

Finally Friday here in Indiana. Yesterday Ryde Time was doable.
The dew/humidity was a little to wet
for me. Luckily for me, I was wearing a
lite rain jacket. Because my jacket was
extremely wet when I got home.

The TV News People said it was very foggy yesterday morning. They were right for yesterday's weather. Something to do with 'dewpoint'.
So much water in the air.

Cloudy this morning in Anacortes. Everything is still wet and soggy from the rain we had yesterday. Things don't dry out as quickly as they do in the desert. Guess the 80% humidity has something to do with that. There are some bright spots in the clouds and it's supposed to become sunny this afternoon. The high will be 70 and the breeze is very light. Looks like we'll have 70 degree days and mid-50 degree nights for the next week. No more rain in the forecast. Stay safe..... Jim

Well I forgot to finish up my weather news. Currently we have overcast sky at 91°F. Now saying 92°F is the high for today.

Heat Advisory till 8pm tonight. I did get outside this morning but it was very
humid. So I was dripping from my head.

Today's numbers are 92°F and 73°F.
A 35% chance of Rain showers tonight.

try and enjoy a small plane day-trip to Holland, MI. He has some business to deal with in person.

Indiana is now under the heat of the season of Summer. Good for corn and beans but not so good for me. Thankfully my AC is working well. The State of Indiana is under a heat advisory till Sunday evening.

High of 89°F with sunshine.
Low at 63°F with some chance of rain.
Rain Showers later this afternoon.
We received a ten minute yesterday
afternoon. Just enough to make everything wet and give us more humidity (98%).

Monday morning weather news from Indiana. Yesterday was a beautiful day with sunshine and lots of humidity and heat. The Canadian Forest Fires Smoke has been somewhat of a health problem for me. Just makes me feel like I am breathing though a straw.
Difficult to breathe in and out.

Currently cloudy sky at 66°F. Humidity is at 78% and going up. No rain here for us today.

High today at 85°F with clouds.
Low of 72°F with some sunshine.

Well, I'll be darned! Just looked up the local weather forecast and there is a heat advisory for the area here in Western Washington. Temperatures expected to get to 85-90 degrees in some areas. Wusses!!! They don't know heat! Having dedicated home ACs are rare around here. Most homes now use dual purpose heat pumps. So, I guess if a home still has an old-style furnace with no AC, it could be uncomfortable. Currently here on Fidalgo Island, it is 68 degrees, humidity at 70%, sunny but filtered by some haze, and a 4 MPH breeze. We won't see any excessive heat where I'm located. The forecast high for today is 76. Great top-down cruising weather. Getting ready to go take advantage and do a little exploring. Stay safe..... Jim

Well, here in Vermont it was a quiet start of the week, which gives way to a slightly more active Tuesday and Wednesday as a stronger low-pressure system pulls multiple fronts through the region. Scattered showers and thunderstorms develop Tuesday afternoon and evening, with the best chance for stronger storms across Southern St. Lawrence County and perhaps in the Northern part of Vermont. Widespread showers and a few rumbles of thunder continue Tuesday night, then activity shifts East into Vermont Wednesday before gradually weakening. The Storm Prediction Center has the area under a Marginal Risk for severe weather - Level 1 on the scale of 1 to 5 - both Tuesday and Wednesday, though the Wednesday storm threat has trended lower. Blue skies, crisp air, and lower humidity return Thursday, followed by a warming trend into the weekend.

Lows in the upper 50's and 60's and highs in the upper 70's.

Saturday, next weekend, stays mostly sunny and warm with a high near 85 degrees. Humidity gradually returns late in the day, and isolated showers are possible. By Sunday, a weak system brings a better chance of scattered showers and thunderstorms, though timing and coverage remain uncertain. Monday remains warm near the upper 70's, with additional showers and thunderstorms possible as the unsettled pattern lingers. The early outlook favors temps near seasonal normal, with no significant impacts expected beyond the mid week system.

It was 102°F at my house today. My wife is sick with a bad cold, so we stayed home.

I still need to fit my Baja Ron Ultra Sway Bay bar but it's 100°F in my garage.

The A/C is running continuously. I just got last months electricity bill. Ouch.

I have a friend who is a pilot and his business owns a small plane.
We did Not get to fly on Saturday because of the weather conditions.

My Health issues and the Weather sometimes makes Life somewhat difficult.

I dunno, Blue - I reckon 'getting older' is a much better option than the alternative, ie. not getting any older!!

But I hafta admit that there are many days where I really do wish my crock of a body just didn't hurt quite so bloody much!

Still, I don't really regret any of what I've done to get to be this old and ache so much/in so many places; plus, after having been told sooo many times by Doctors and others that I really shouldn't have survived something that I did just survive, which by rights &/or all expectations shoulda killed me; and yet here I still am, still looking down on the daisies instead of pushing them up; I can only believe that someone, somewhere, still has a plan for me/there's something I've still gotta do!

Besides, like my old Mum used to say (only for about 50 years or so before she passed, effectively when she decided and on her own terms, at the ripe old age of 98! ) that "only the good die young!" - so I reckon that since I've probly got a fair while to go yet, I guess I should try to make the most of it!

Which all boils down to the fact that, for me at least, I truly can't hate the idea of 'getting older' as such; but somehow, I still reckon I'm entitled to grumble about how much it hurts these days at every opportunity - after all, I've been being called a grumpy old man for years now, and I never was one to let people down on that sorta score!

But the bleedin' weather here atm, with temps barely above 0 degrees C (despite the sunshine) teaming up with winds that're howling straight off the Ice pack and then getting colder over thousands of kms of freezing Antarctic Ocean, so that by the time they get here, they're causing frosts that are pushing 25mm thick on any exposed surface and them'n the fog that hangs around until near Midday really don't help ease the aches & pains any either!! Right now, it's easier to report that 'my left knee doesn't hurt atm (but just give it a minute!)' than it is to list off what actually is hurting! I guess it's all a great reminder to get on with whatever it is that I'm meant to be doing... now if only I knew what that was??

I left my desert home a month ago to avoid a lot of the summer heat. Today there is an excessive heat alert at home while here on Fidalgo Island we are in an area that is having a heat advisory. My take is that an advisory is a step lower than an alert?!? Fortunately (for me), the advisory is mostly for the inland areas. Today's high here is forecast to be 80 degrees. It's sunny, wind is calm, and humidity is 68%. Brings back memories of sitting on my boat at anchor not far from here. Flat calm, zero wind, 80+ degrees, all hatches and doors open, and no escape from what seemed like stifling heat. And, NO! Jumping into the 55-degree water was not an option!!! Stay safe..... Jim
