• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Rusty Palmer's Honesdale PA..

Both the friend I was with and myself purchased new rides after the Rusty Palmer debacle. NEITHER of us purchased from him. He obviously stays in business but he will not get any of my hard earned dollars. In contrast the BMW dealer that I generally buy from throws me a set of keys and tells...

Who is going to the owner event from Pa?

Thanks Kent - I heard something about the Mggie Valley event, did not realize they were one and the same!

Who is going to the owner event from Pa?

Where and when? New to the Spyder, what goes on at such an event?

    Rusty Palmer's Honesdale PA..

Rusty Palmer is off my list as he will not allow ANY test rides, at least as of 2 years ago, never bothered to go back. No experience with NAWH. While I have not bought a bike at TJ's, they have been fine with the parts I have needed. I have not heard any bad on TJ's either. That said I ended...

    Oil change question?

Certainly you can change it cold. Is it ideal? No. Would I make a regular habit of it? No. Are you ever going to see any long term effects from doing it one time? No. Just make sure it is warmed up next time! :doorag:

Spyder "buzzing" for up to 1 hour after shut down

It is in the manual, have to turn the page after it refers to stopping the vehicle. There is a paragraph that starts out "All Models", and it is in there. Seems like this may be something the sales person should go over when explaining the machine since it is unusual. Anyway it is normal...

Spyder "buzzing" for up to 1 hour after shut down

I must have missed it in the manual but I did look it over. Will look again when I get a chance.

Spyder "buzzing" for up to 1 hour after shut down

Nope, not seconds, minutes. Again dealer mechanic says it is normal, has to do with heat management according to him for warm starts.

Spyder "buzzing" for up to 1 hour after shut down

Hi all - Been a member here for about a month and just brought my wife's 2012 RT home a couple of days ago. We rode it about 185 miles the first day and there is a definite learning curve! Upon parking it in our garage and shutting it down I noticed a buzzing sound coming from the unit, kind...

    Marvel Mystry Oil

I have used MMO oil in the gas of my small engines for longer than I care to remember. While I do not use it every tank on my BMW 1150 RT which has a cat, I do use it several times a year and have never seen a sign of any ill effects. I particularly like it for its cleaning effects. I also seem...

Rough Idle, Check Engine then Limp Mode after Storage

Glad to hear you found the problem. Thanks for sharing. That hose looks pretty bad for being less than 2 years old, perhaps defective?

What do they really do other than change oil and check a few nuts and bolts?

Rough Idle, Check Engine then Limp Mode after Storage

Several good suggestions here, could be any one of them. I have been a pretty fair backyard mechanic most of my life and was a field service engineer for over 10 years. One thing I learned, sometimes the hard way.... Check the easy simple things first.

Rough Idle, Check Engine then Limp Mode after Storage

Did you put stabilizer in the fuel? Last fall I had untreated hi-test 93 octane fuel go bad in my BMW 1150RT in less than 2 months. Machine would not start in my case at all, fresh fuel and she ran like a top as usual.

Good to read that as I have some concerns over the heat issue, hope it is the case!

Advantages/Disadvantages of Auto or manual Transmissions?

I am new to Spyders and the forum. I rode both and felt much more comfortable with the manual, of course I have been riding motorcycles over 40 years and do not plan on getting rid of my regular rides just yet. Feel it will be much easier and more natural when switching back and forth between...

    Let's create a Spyderfest Northeast!

I read something a few days two ago about a get together in New Holland PA, did not get the impression they were talking about a full blown Spyderfest deal. The Amish country has some interesting things to see and some excellent eateries. Does anyone recall seeing that post?
