• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Sealboards on an RS - how do they fit & function?

Of all the posts I have read, the installation is very straight-forward and usually doesn't take more than a half-hour or so. That being said, the SM models (like yours) does take a bit longer than the SE models because of the extra hardware involved in the shifter mechanism. I am sure that...

Sealboards on an RS - how do they fit & function?

Thank you all very much for providing all the great information. I really appreciate the responses, and those photos were great. The added benefit is, it looks like some others were looking for the same type of information. Hopefully I titled the post well enough that others will be able to find...

Sealboards on an RS - how do they fit & function?

I am posting outside the RS "box" because I know several of you have owned more than one variant of the Spyder. My wife does not feel safe with the stock RS peg/foot-brake configuration, but loves the feel of the new ST with the floorboard setup it has. The sealboards are the closest I've been...

Rear fusebox accessory plug.....where did it go?

I am about to rewire my wife's 2012 RS LED ground effects and found a promising source at the rear fusebox. There is an open accessory (40a) socket with fuse, but there is no connector/harness that I can find that plugs into it. My questions are; 1) Is the harness & connector stowed somewhere...

    I Done went and Diddit

Many thanks to everyone for all the warm welcomes AND information. I will definitely read the entire owners manual, now that I see there really are some unique procedures. I must say, although this RS will need some refinements to make it comfortable for my wife (risers, grip puppies &...

    I Done went and Diddit

Thank you for that info! I saw a link regarding that vendor by a gent who had installed a bunch of stuff. The thing I like about his "fuze" block is that it provides switched and un-switched and also provides bleed-back diodes. A bit pricey, but with the extra features it may be well worth the...

    I Done went and Diddit

Yessir! (that smile lights up my day) She's a happy camper and is anxious to get the safety course completed. It's a good thing she didn't ride it home, as we still got caught in some nasty weather, not to mention the LOVEBUGS are out! :cus:. I had forgotten how uncomfortable rain is at 65mph...

    I Done went and Diddit

That is very good info, SpyderAnn - MUCH appreciated. While I knew that an ACCURATE reading had to be made at operating temperature, (yes I read the owner's manual Tuckmiddle ;)), I did NOT know that when cold, it would not register a reading on the stick at all. It is interesting to...

    I Done went and Diddit

Well I finally managed to find a Spyder that fit my requirement of being affordable and under or eligible for a warranty, and my wife's requirement of an accceptable "cuteness" factor! I had actually found a private seller with a 2012 RS- SE5, but while I was waiting for him to transfer the...

Prospective Spyder owner - Any Reputable Extended Warranties?

Firefly, That is a good suggestion as well. While most dealerships within 400 miles are REALLY proud of their Spyders, there are a few that are offering some great prices on some new & new-used RS/RSS models. For the most part we have found no ST models (our preference) and the RT's seem to...

Prospective Spyder owner - Any Reputable Extended Warranties?

Mouthpiece/Chris; You interpreted me correctly, and thanks for the advice. The Can-Am dealer here in Jacksonville is Jacksonville Power Sports. I will definitely be hitting them up tomorrow (bike dealerships closed Sunday/Monday here) with a few VIN's I'm looking into. I will keep that...

    SQEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEKKKKKKKKKK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am brand new to this forum (and the Spyder as well). I have been reading about the brake squeal issues and was just wondering...is it similar to what a lot of Goldwings experience (like mine did) on the front rotors. The cause on our bikes was that the OEM pads were mostly metal, and the...

    Hello To All

Flat is back! I really like that green, and that Duracell color is as well. Congrats, and enjoy your new ride!

Prospective Spyder owner - Any Reputable Extended Warranties?

Greetings everyone, Welcome back home to those of you who appear to be just returning from a Spyder rally. I hope everyone had fun & made it home safely. I am buying a used Spyder for my wife, and have found a few very nice, low-mileage RS-SE5's and RSS models in our price range. However, most...
