• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Handlebar Riser

I don't think that would have any effect on the starting. It may be a vapor lock effect, which occurrs when the outside temp is really hot and the fuel vaporizes in the fuel line. That is usually a carburated engine issue. Your problem is the outside temp.

    Handlebar Riser

When I bought my Spyder I bought a riser block from Can Am. I got it and installed it. My handlebars were off by approx. 2 degrees. During my service it was checked by a service tech. The riser can only be put on one way due to the casting and the distinctive groove. The service manager called...

    Backfiring?

When I was riding Harleys I had a ongoing issue with the pop from the exhaust. I spoke with one of the older mechanics told me that I had an "air leak". Supposedly when decelerating fresh air is drawn in around an air leak in or around wher the pipes are joined. This can be at the head to pipe...

Police motorcycle units should consider Spyder.

I'm certainly not saying that it is an impossiblilty for Spyders, but I don't see it replacing police motors with police departments. They would be hard to squeeze through traffic that was congested for call response. Where I used to work we had motors, electric cars, golf carts, atv's, and...

Police motorcycle units should consider Spyder.

The Can Am is a wonderful bike for many things. Police Departments send their motormen to schools to get certified and learn police pursuits, riding formations, tactical deployment, and other disciplines during the class. The course is set up and accredited by FDLE standards. Due to the...

Do a Wheelie in Florida: Lose Your Bike?

The main reason for this occurring in Florida is this primarily: The sportbikes aka rice rockets were drag racing and doing wheelies at a high rate of speed. The police especially those in the Tampa Bay area attempt to stop those bikes and their license tags are located in front of the rear tire...

    Hindle Exhaust questions.....

Lamonster I'm with you on this. What damage? I would like to see facts on why the other pipes aren't any good. Seems like a lot of hype. What happens when you change altitudes? Is there an O2 sensor on the system? I thought that the computer compensated for air/fuel...

    Custom Spyder- Owner Spyder114

John, I must say your Can Am is very impressive. You have certainly done much and spent a lot of time on your Spyder. I appreciate the info on the windshield. The tour winshield wasn't worth the paper it was wrapped in. I will contact bikescreen.com and order a shield. Did you eliminate your...

Changing pre load on front shocks

I changed my pre-load on the front and rear. I like my suspension a little stiffer and I was pulling my trailer. I jacked up the front end of my Spyder to take off the most pressure on the adjustments. I used an adjustable strap wrench, which does an ample job without scratching the surface...

    Tire Balancing

I had a little bump coming from the front end of my Spyder. I took it down to my local boys at the tire shop. They gave me a double take and started to work. We found that one tire was half an ounce not enough and the other was too heavy by quarter ounce. Seems to have made a difference. Not...

I love it. The wilder looking the better. I like to see how creative that Spyder riders can be. That's how a lot of us get ideas and expand on them.

Trailer Hitch - Any news Lamonster?

Andrew was right!!! What a great looking hitch. I prefer the powder coat black finish. That's what I have and I like it. As far as frame mounted hitches at least there are choices now. Post some finished product photos. Everyone will love to see them....

Trailer Hitch - Any news Lamonster?

If you go to Can Am Talk under Tips and Tricks you will be able to read over 100 posts on the trailer hitch issue. At last word the only swing arm mounted hitch is produced by Mel's Monster Garage. It has been requested that he provide some sort of product performance documentation. So far the...
