• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    High Rate of Oil Consumption

Thanks to everyone for the advice - I guess I'm going to have to keep a closer eye on my oil level. I don't ride very often (mostly just weekends) and I don't ride very hard, so I'd be surprised if the oil consumption is due to how I'm riding, but I do live in suburban Chicago, so there's a...

    High Rate of Oil Consumption

Hi All. I have a questions for those of you who are more adept at Spyder maintenance than I am. I am having an issue with burning oil. I read the thread that was started last year about how much oil the Spyder uses, and it seems like I am burning more than average amounts. I have about 1700...

Suggested Spyder Model / Model Year

My advice would be to determine what riding position you like. The RS will give you the most forward riding position and is most like a sport bike (though in all honesty, you can't really compare any of the Spyders with a sport bike). The RT is an upright riding position and more comfortable...

    Rear shock loosing air

My 2010 RT A/C won't hold air for more than a few hours. Everyday I ride it, I need to refill the airbag because it will go flat.

Light Smoke vs. Dark Smoke Face Shield?

Thanks Everyone Thanks for all your comments. I wasn't looking to get a new helmet, but I think that might be the best route if I get a good one with the inner sun shield. In the interim, sunglasses it is......

Light Smoke vs. Dark Smoke Face Shield?

Can anyone comment on whether the light smoke face shields are sufficient for riding in bright sunlight (i.e. midday or evening while riding into the setting sun) or do I need a dark smoke shield for that? I'm looking to purchase a tinted face shield for my full face helmet, so that I can ride...

    Kumho Ecsta AST Installed.

I'm getting ready to do the same thing and my dealer (in IL) told me the same thing. They said something about rubber compound used in the tire possibly throwing off a sensor. Personally, I'm not buying the reason (especially since so many SL's have used road tires successfully), but I guess...

    Driver/passenger communications

Bob - do you make/sell these cables? I don't have the equipment to make a cable, nor do I really want to purchase it, because I doubt I'll ever make another cable. If you sell them for a reasonable price, then it might makes sense to buy one from you and just get the SM10 on the open market...

    Driver/passenger communications

Yup. If memory serves correct, the priority on the SENA units is phone call/intercom/music in that order. So if you're listening to music and you either receive a phone call or your passenger initiates an intercom connection, your music will stop. Once your call ends or the intercom session...

It's Been a Farkle Kind of Day...A Review of My First Attempt at DIY Installation

Just high enough to get the jack stands under the front.... I have a 2010 RT. I probably got the bike up about 14'-15''. I just used one of the locking jack stops that allowed me to get the jack stands under the front. I really didn't measure it out. 18 inches is pretty high, that's...

It's Been a Farkle Kind of Day...A Review of My First Attempt at DIY Installation

I'd love a backrest, but I can't decide between the Utopia or going with a full upgrade to the seat. I saw the Corbin seat for sale on the forums, but that's a lot of $$$ for something I've never sat on.

It's Been a Farkle Kind of Day...A Review of My First Attempt at DIY Installation

You're on! Hi Doug - I will actually be riding through Norway very shortly. I have a couple hours before company comes over, so I will get a quick ride in. However, I would be interested in getting a ride in one of these upcoming weekends. I'll PM you so we can get something arranged.

It's Been a Farkle Kind of Day...A Review of My First Attempt at DIY Installation

Well, now that I have been fully bitten by the Spyder-bug, I spent the day installing my first set of farkles. This afternoon I installed the BajaRon Anti-Sway Bar and an assortment of Spyderpops toys (Bumpskid, Catalytic Converter Shield Set & the Missing Belt Guard). And I must say, it all...

    My First Farkles Have Arrived...

So my SpyderPops Bump Shield, Missing Belt Guard and Catalytic Converter Shields were delivered today. The BajaRon Swaybar is enroute and should be here soon. Now I need to decide in what order to put them on. Considering that I've never worked on my Spyder, does anyone have suggestions? I...
