• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Spyder Wandering

A lot of the "wandering" is visual perception. As G-forces and side winds move your body side-to-side, your visual point-of-view changes, which makes you think the vehicle underneath you is moving side-to-side when someone following you would think not. I first experienced this 30-some years ago...

O2 sensor eliminator and Hindle results

Had a thought last night (dangerous!) after Hindle/O2 mod test ride and reading posts. I had disconnected battery during O2 mod install, but had not let engine idle afterwards for an extended period; rather, I revved it mildly to experience effects since it was raining. So I pulled main relays...

O2 sensor eliminator and Hindle results

What's odd is the wide range of results from identical performance mods, it's as though no two Spyders are the same.

O2 sensor eliminator and Hindle results

Test ride 7 pm, 80 degrees, muggy after showers passed through, backroads in Eastern Panhandle of WV still damp in spots. Wearing half-shell helmet (usually wear modular or full-face) so I can hear engine and Hindle/O2 eliminator results. Low speed driveability definitely improved, better...

O2 sensor eliminator and Hindle results

Just finished installation of Evoluzione O2 eliminator in an effort to cure low-end and light throttle spittiness experienced with Hindle muffler and Evoluzione air filter in unmodified OEM airbox. Installation was not difficult as directions were clear. Disconnected battery as per...

Spyder driving as therapy and review (long)

You are a friendly and tolerant bunch of guys and gals, thanks for the kind greetings and responses. But to answer some questions: I live just outside of Berkeley Springs, WV. The GIVI rack is a SR770.M5 from Twisted Thottle, could have ordered it from the dealer, I suppose. Sidecars...

Spyder driving as therapy and review (long)

62 year-old 750,000-mile two-wheel refugee with 85,000 miles of sidecar travel here. Just turned four digits on my 2009 SE5 odometer, so I know y'all are DYING to read my impressions. First, my unit has had no problems whatsoever, though it is somewhat idosyncratic. Took some getting used to...

    SE5 - I just caught up :(

Did you change the tranny oil filter at the 600-mile oil change? Though the manual calls for changing it every 12,000 miles, a change at the break-in oil change would seem to be a good idea. My tech thinks it should be chnaged every oil change, which would make a pricy operation even more expensive.

    HIgh idle?

I did let it idle for 15 minutes (clocked) then shut off for 15 minutes before riding. My XB1200 Buell would re-map its ECU by cruising at steady highway speeds. I wonder if the Spyder does likewise. The idle quirks I described are very minor and might not be noticed by some. Not a complaint...

    HIgh idle?

Manual states idle should be 1400 rpm, plus or minus 50. My SE5 idles higher after Hindle install (during which battery was disconnected) but is still within spec. It doesn't idle as well as with the stock muffler, and I get a very faint stutter on some rare upshifts. I've only ridden it an...

Considering a new exhaust?...read this!! Aftermarket exhaust problem solved!!

Just installed Hindle muffler during first oil change. Disconnected battery during lube and pipe job, reattached and allowed to idle 15 minutes, let cool for 15 minutes, checked torque on pipe collar and mount, rode home in rain. Runs perfectly, though the sound level is quite a shock until you...

    BACKREST?

I got pretty sore last weekend afteer a two-hour back road putt with wife. I have not been riding much lately due to a series of surgeries on rotator cuff, foot, etc. I think a lot of my discomfort is due to being out of shape. Sidecar and trike driving is far more strenuous than two-wheeling...

    Avoidance issues

I've noticed it's harder to avoid roadkill, potholes and other obstacles in your path on the road on a Spyder. With a sidecar or automobile you can steer over the obstacle with wheels tracking on either side. On a two-wheeler, countersteer around it. But I have to remind myself the rear wheel...
