• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Windshield removal??

So Dave, what are you up to? I think I'd like a tinted shield, had them on my Harleys. I'm just waiting for someone to offer it. I always look over my shields. Dwight

    RT-S Limp Home!

I did try that to see if I had any codes, couldn't get anything to come up. Same deal, maybe I didn't have any codes? Let us know if you come up with some other way. Thanks Dwight

    RT-S Limp Home!

Update OK, got home from work and started up the RT. No check engine light, no DPS fault, everything is ok!! Went ahead and checked both fuse boxes and pushed on all of the fuses and relays. Couldn't tell if any were loose. Checked oil just in case. 40 degrees and rain so I didn't ride it. Not...

How Many Times Have you Broken down on your Spyder

OK, haven't broken down where I needed a tow truck, roadside reboot didn't do any good. But I still was able to ride it home, even though it was speed limited to 50mph. So ---none of the poll answers fits. BTW it's a new RT-S with about 760 miles on it. Dwight

    New Toy!

OK, help me out a bit here. Just where in Illinois are those mountains?:D I talked myself out of the Blue, now I'm not so sure that was a good idea. It really does look awsome! Congrats!! Dwight

    RT-S Limp Home!

Tried the key removal thing, didn't help. I called the service dept, they didn't have any new reports. I'm going to try reading the code when I get home, then call the service tech back and let him know. Maybe he will have some ideas then. Also going to take it in Saturday for the 600 and...

    Went and got hitched today!!!

Is the mudflap a RT-S option that I can buy at the dealer or is it aftermarket? If it's aftermarket who do I get it from? Another question, how much does the trailer hitch cost? I wouldn't need the harness - not going to pull a trailer, but I might like to have a small storage box to fit on...

    RT-S Limp Home!

Thanks for that info Lamont! I'll try that and see what I get. I didn't notice any difference in the steering. Actually didn't notice any differences at all except it was rpm limited. I will also give the fuses and relays a look. I'll call the dealer today while I'm at work, I need to schedule...

    RT-S Limp Home!

Well, it happened to me this afternoon. Got home from work and temp was 50, decided to go for a quick ride. On my way home, about 25 miles out, cruising at 65mph and it just shut off! Coasted down to around 45 - 50 and started running again but wouldn't take throttle. Check engine light was...

GPS mounts, Cup Holders and Handlebars

OK, Thanks Matt and Lamont! I've sent them a message. I'd like to see pictures of the mounting, hopefully they can provide them. Dwight

Matt, How about a hand operated brake for the RT? Any chance of that happening? Dwight

    Passenger Heated Grips ... problem?

I second the comment about the front grips being to hot on low, but, given the alternative, they're still good to have. Don't know how good the passenger grips work, the SO won't leave home at temps under 50! We do have Gerbring jacket liners and she has the gloves. Dwight

    Soft Bag Inserts

Me to! The soft liners are a necessity for us. I do have a set of HD bag liners, I'll have to see how they work. Please keep us informed about the Kathys bags. Dwight

    noob questions

I don't mind riding in the cold. Haven't had the RT out in the snow yet, probably couldn't get up my drive with it, too steep. I will say that the RT has the best weather protection of any bike/trike I've ridden. Upper 30's ride last Saturday. Tourmaster coat, ski bibs, unlined deerskin gloves...

    Where/How/What Radar Detector?

I'd be interested in this myself. It's very hard to maintain the 55 mph limit on the backroad hiways around here. Wouldn't be so bad if it would find a home around 63 or so but it seems as if everytime I check the speedo it's in the 75 to 79 mph range! If I'm not careful that's gonna cost me big...

    Option prices

Update Stopped in at the dealers on Saturday. Got to talk to the owner about the prices for the options. Ended up getting it lowered enough so that I went ahead and gave them a deposit to guarentee they would be mine when they come in. I'm happy now. Dwight

    Anyone price of service

I checked Saturday with my dealer on cost of 600 mile service. $275 for an e-shift, less for a manual shift. Dwight PS: My dealer is in KC MO.

    Option prices

Thanks guys for the replies. My sales guy did say he could probably reduce install time if I did it all at once. I'll call him again and see if I can negotiate a better price. I'd still like to have the GPS but after riding my RT I think a better place to mount it would be on the dash above...
