• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Housekeeping post that appears in every Ad:

Please make sure that you read and follow the directions in the READ FIRST! Sticky (& all the posts in that thread) that's found at the top of this forum section and linked below:

paying particular heed to:
  • the need for regular posts from you, adding to the thread (& not just edits of the first post!) in order to keep the Ad alive;
  • if you add any pics (and you really should, if you want to sell!), the need to insert no more than 6 images per post as thumbnails iaw the 'Please upload, attach, and insert any pics/images as Thumbnails' Sticky, especially if you want everybody to be able to view them/your Ad, leaving at least a space or three between each image! (Having at least one pic in your opening post of the Ad/thread will mean that your Ad will have the first pic shown in your 1st post here appear on the index page - which helps get viewers to look at what you've got/on offer; and posting an extra pic or two in new posts added to the Ad/thread regularly over the coming weeks/months will also satisfy the first point above ;));
  • do not display personal contact details, unique identifiers, or discuss prices, payment, payment methods, or negotiate at all on the public pages, use the Forum's DM facility to exchange contact details &/or conduct any/all negotiations; and
  • the need to properly finalise the Ad by marking it Sold once you've finished with it, even if you haven't actually 'sold' anything, don't want to sell any more, or just don't need the Ad any longer! ;)
Good Luck with your sale. (y)

Ps: You might want to tell everyone what year your Spyder is. ;)

It say he edited the post on Monday?

Editing doesn't reset the 'New Post' counter; it won't bring the Ad/post back up to the top of the index page listing; and it won't bring the Ad/post up in anyone's 'Today's Posts' search either, all if which, in an attempt to actually HELP people make a sale, is why the READ FIRST! Sticky says (and for those who haven't bothered to read it, I'll quote the pertinent bit here, with the red colour & underline being the only added emphasis. ;) ):

...
  • Once your Advert has been posted, you'll need to actively watch it, and while you still need to visit & post in your Ad at least once per month, Please do Be Patient - you should log in to the Forum, review your DM's, & monitor/check in on your ad (by opening it) to look for replies frequently, weekly is recommended, but -
at least once a month you need to open and look at your Ad AND make a 'proper' new post in it telling people that your gear is still available/wanted; adding some new info; or posting more pics, etc or it will be removed/moved into the Archives - but DO NOT JUST EDIT an EXISTING POST, OR POST anything with the word 'BUMP' in it! ...

So while editing an existing Ad/post is fine, if all you want to do is make your changes and not really let anyone know that you've done anything, it doesn't really help all that much if a poster truly want to make a sale... :sneaky:

So if the PP/seller really wants to sell anything and to make sure their changes stand any chance of being seen by anyone apart from the Mods, or at the very least to bring their Ad/post back up in the 'New Posts' or 'Today's Posts' search results so that readers might decide to look at it (again?), then they really need to ADD a NEW post every now and then - and if they don't want it dumped as being abandoned or simply forgotten, they need to do that at least monthly. Still, if the OP doesn't really want to sell it, edit away... :cautious:

Just Sayin' ;)

Ps: And at that price, I might even actually think about buying it from you, @HagermanSpyder, if only I was in the US and I wanted one! But aside from me still not seeing any 1330 powered Spyder in my future, as anything with that motor is not really an 'upgrade' over my 'enhanced V-Twin powered' 2013 RT Ltd, which has had all the heat recall stuff done, and also came from the factory with all the frame, brake, & running gear upgrades that the 2014's got, just not the lazier 3 cylinder motor; but also cos I'm here in South Oz, half a World away, I simply don't think it's viable for me to do that. It's probably not even viable if you pay all the overseas freight costs, all the import fees and processing costs, and for the mods necessary to get it past our Australian Design Rules compliance processing too - all of which combined would probably add up to costing more than your current reduced sale price!! But I do reckon that if it was here in Oz with all that done and for sale at that price, or even at your original price, it would be snapped up pdq!! Dunno what's wrong with anyone in the US who might be looking for one of the better & most reliable years/models of Spyders (after the 2013 Spyders with the V-Twin motor, once the heat recall was done, of course! 😋), and it's at a pretty damn good price too! :unsure:
