There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

'Operation Christmas Drop' flies annually out of Guam, Andersen Air Force Base, in the Pacific Ocean, with C-130 Hercules cargo aircraft delivering food and gifts to hundreds of isolated islands in the Pacific ocean. Did I miss something? What does Loggins have to do with Operation Christmas Drop or the fact that he doesn't know Jack about it? I didn't see any mention of this in Rapid's post. How do you know that Loggins doesn't know anything about it?

Kenny Loggins has songs with aviation themes, but he never served in the military and avoided the draft with a college exemption. I was an Aircraft Loadmaster on C-130-E Hercules in the USAF and served most of my time in PACAF. That is the Pacific Area of operation from Hawaii to the Indian Ocean. I am familiar with Guam, and many of the other Pacific islands under United States control. I have done shortfield landings on many of the islands to resupply radar sites and other small installations. I was also airdrop qualified and trained in rigging package drops. Rapid Spider's post was about Kenny Loggins singing about Christmas and some of the aircraft related songs. I don't sing, but I have years of experience as aircrew on the C-130s and the same Operation Christmas Drop now originates out of Guam each year, which was in our area of operation. I have nothing against Kenny Loggins, but at this time of the year a post about Operation Christmas Drop seemed to be appropriate. You might be surprised how few people even know there are islands in the Pacific Ocean which do belong to the United States. Most people don't even know that Pueto Rico is a USA territory. Rapid Spider's post said he was dissappointed Kenny Loggins new album is named "December' and not "Highway To The Manger Zone". I just did a little word association and used the opportunity to spread some facts that most people not involved in any of it might find interesting.

Thanks for the info but from what I'm reading. Loggins didn't avoid the Vietnam draft with a college exemption.
- Eligibility: Loggins became eligible for the draft after dropping out of school to tour with a band.
- Avoidance: He was saved from serving in Vietnam due to having buck teeth. Getting braces made him ineligible for military service at the time.
He only has the one song with an aviation theme, as far as I know at least.
