• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Random thought for the day

Makes me happy that I grew up in the 40s and 50s when we liked to get outside to play, explore, interact, and have a real face-to-face best friend.

I don't think it has as much to do with when you grew up, as it does with your own goals, hobbies, and interests. Grew up on a farm and you didn't dare tell your parents that you was bored. They would give you jobs to do to help out with the boredom. I don't have TV now. Nothing on it that I am interested in. I have plenty of small projects going on all the time to spend my extra time on, either in the yard or out in my shop. Built go carts, motorcycles, trailers, and other stuff. Currently building handmade knives. I am 75 years old and have never been bored enough to play video games or watch soap operas in my life.

Not only during snow day, but also during all holidays, summer vacation, spring break, and any other days the school is closed for any reason.
Show them a baseball, a bat, a football, or a basketball and they would not know what it was.
Unfortunately, they might not know what it is, but will still take (steal) it in the blink of an eye. They'll break things or use them to brake/destroy something else just as quick.
Oh yea, possibly on video too!

Yup, that'd work!!

But I am a little bit surprised at how many of those 'thieves' types will record themselves getting sprung/otherwise caught out... 😒

AND THEN THEY POST IT, often just to get the views, but almost as often to complain about how unfair life is!! 😖 We've got some Police Depts here in Oz who trawl the internet looking for self-incriminating posts... ;)

Maybe that Albert Einstein quote truly does apply to the 'thieves' who do that... 🤨

Hey G, I've made a few knives in my time

Hey G, I've made a few knives in my time
I have made a lot of them, but you can't never have too many knives. Got em for all different purposes, from Pruning Knives, Fillet Knives, Skinning Knives, to all kind of folders. No clue how many I even have....... some name brand and some made in my shop. Some might be used as weapons, but they are tools to me. I was 19 years old when the USA government issued me a fully automatic assault rifle, and a switch blade knife. Too young to vote or drink beer, but they trusted me with those.

Yeah, foreign films, I watch them all the time. If they are not dubbed in English or Spanish, I read the subtitles in English. The sub-titles are also handy to be able to understand a conversation when the film has a music track running louder than the actors. Many of the foreign made films are far better than anything Hollywood puts out these days. Hollywood can't come close to a John Woo Mandarin Historical war film with a cast of thousands. I can read fast. Learned to keep up when I was watching foreign films in the local town theaters of foreign countries I was living in. They would run the film dubbed in Mandarin or whatever the primary local language was, and run the subtitles in English. Some of the films were from Europe. Some were from United States, and the original film was in English, but when they show it in the theater in down town Taichung City, you still gotta read subtitles, because they are showing the version dubbed in Mandarin for the locals.
