• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

2014 STL won't go into gear - any ideas?

I was driving home from Bike Week yesterday, on a back road doing about 50 miles an hour going up a hill, when I tried to downshift into Fourth only the bike stayed in Fifth gear, but the engine revved like it went into Neutral. I got it to the side of the road. Trying to diagnose when shifting, it will say it's going into First gear or Reverse, but it won't actually move, the engine just revs. There is a clicking sound when you put it into gear, and something is rattling. I had to pick up my bike the next day with my trailer; got it home; and checked the linkage. The bolt is tight, but it wobbles a little bit when changing gears; you can see the linkage move back and forth. The bike says it's in First but just revs like it's in Neutral.

Oil level is good barely on dip stick when cold. Normal level when hot. Oil changed 800 miles ago with amsoil 5w40. I've had the bike almost 3 years just hit 10k miles

Unfortunately also the soft metal gear shift arm can strip splines internally & also causing odd shifting -ultimately complete failure. If wobbles a little, is safe to go ahead & remove for inspection. Also helpful to replace bolt with longer one & a nylon lock nut to help crimp shift arm tighter. ** note the orientation on shaft** there is an indicator dimple on end of shaft. (Believe N is at 6:00 maybe 7:00 position) hopefully will crimp tighter as parts sadly unlikely. Is a sacrificial part to protect engine from damage.
