• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Who Uses Shell Rotella T-6

I plan on switching to Rotella 5-40 at my next oil change. I noticed that it comes in 4 quart jugs at Walmart. I guess I will buy 2 of them and and save the excess for the following service. The price of the oil change kit from Can Am is just absurd. $120 for 5.5 quarts of semi synthetic and a...

    OK to Pressure wash wheels?

As a follow up to my original post I got the chance to get out the pressure washer and have at it. Very disappointed at the results on my front wheels. It works well on my car and truck but on the Spyder it didn't do much at all. Not sure why but the dirt and deposits seem almost baked on. I...

21 RTL Handlebar shake at 45 mph. Running out of ideas. Any suggestions?

As a retired auto mechanic with over 40 years experience I can tell you for sure that spin balancers need to have their calibration checked almost daily. This is a routine check and not hard to do. These machines can be knocked out of calibration pretty easily. Also you need a tech who is...

Dealer Parts pricing - any Can Am dealers discount online?

I went to pick up an oil change kit and a strut for my trunk lid. I noticed that list prices are the rule at Can Am dealers in NJ. $72 for the trunk strut seems a bit much but the bike is too new to let it go as is. I did not want aftermarket so I paid the price. I know the oil change kit sees...

    OK to Pressure wash wheels?

Hello All, I just got returned from Americade up in Lake George NY. All in all a great time but certainly not the event it used to be. What is I guess in these times of Covid and such. I Lost a bolt in the ride height level sensor. This set an indicator light on the dash. A forum search...

Bought demo 2017 RT as new, BRP says warranty time used by dealer demo period?

While it's true that the selling dealer may have scammed you, they are representing Can Am as an authorized selling dealer. Can Am should step up and make it right for you. This has happened many years ago when I lived in Brooklyn, NY. with car dealerships taking money and then just not opening...

    Anti Freeze Alternative?

Chupaca a 50/50 mix is what you should be using. Anti freeze does more than prevent freeze up. It lubricates and prevents corrosion and a 50/50 mix with distilled water is the minimum mix and best. For me since I don't find the need to change anti freeze every year I stick with what the...

What's up with the audio? 2018 RT Limited

I have a 2018 RTL Spyder as well. Basically the FM radio I find is awkward and counter intuitive to use with poor reception. I am surprised at how poor it sounds in this day and age.

    Vampire Drain?

Lots of good answers here but I will add my own from 40+ years of automotive repair experience. You need to measure the parasitic draw using a sensitive meter that can measure in milliamps. Generally it should be no more than about 50 milliamps. Perhaps BRP allows a higher reading but certainly...

    My Spyder hauler

I have been towing trailers and RV's for more than 30 years. I would't worry about 300lb tongue weight on a pickup truck. No need to load backwards or anything else really. If you are really worried about it you might load the can Am a little further back on the trailer if you have the room...

    Helmet Housekeeping

I use a product called helmet fresh spray. Probably not much different than Lysol or Fabreeze. I always store my helmet open side up to air out. I wash the liner once in a while but also use a doo rag for when it's really hot.

    Best Trailer For Hauling Spyder

If I was buying a trailer to haul my Spyder I would look for one that I could use to load my Spyder without extra wood ramps etc. If I was using a trailer I already owned I guess I would use some wood ramps or what not to load the bike without bottoming the nose. I have a toy hauler camper and I...

    Gel inserts

when I had the gel pad inserted on my motorcycle seat, I noticed it was installed under the foam padding and not on top. I gained a lot of comfort without the seat heating the way it might with the get on top. Just my .02 Solman
