• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

engine difference in RTS and F3

RT vs F3 Rear sprocket Has anyone attempted to run the 990 RT rear drive sprocket on an F3 ??? It should result in a higher top end, and or a lower cruise RPM. The F3 seems to have enough torque to handle it. Not sure if there would need to be a drive belt swap required to do it.

    RT Air Filter Replacement

New K&N Filter installed I did the replacement of the filter this morning. Took me about 1 hr 15 min. with interuptions from a landscaper planting a tree in the front yard. It went pretty smooth for my first time. The old filter looked almost new and the air box was clean too. Went for a...

    RT Air Filter Replacement

According to the K&N website the maintainence intervals are fairly long. Won't be a problem for the way I ride. How often do I need to clean my K&N air filter? If you have not experienced a decrease in mileage or engine performance, chances are your filter is fine and does not yet need...

    RT Air Filter Replacement

Can some one point me to a How to article on changing the RT air filter ? I am approaching 10K trouble free miles in just under a year. I just picked up an K&N filter with the hopes of extending the service interval for this item. Thanks in advance for any help with this.:helpsmilie:

New Recall Gas Cap Did Not Fix Gas SMell

Gas Smell It's a small wonder that after a nice ride you come home to the smell of gas vapors. Ever notice how the left side exhaust pipe is routed right up against the gas tank. In fact the gas tank was designed with an indent for the pipe. Lots of heat being transferred into the gas tank...

    Cruise Control Not working

Took a ride today and just for giggles tried to use the cruise control even though in my mind I was sure it didn't work. Pushed the switch to on and got the digital on indicator. Pushed the switch down to set speed around 50mph and the readout went to off. Out of frustration I switched off then...

    Cruise Control Not working

After splitting the throttle switch housing and spraying the cruise control switch as best I could with electronic contact cleaner I now see that when I slide the switch to the right I can see the cruise on indicated on the digital display. Taking it out on the road and turning on the cruise...

    Cruise Control Not working

My 2012 Rt SE5 has been running fine and is approaching 5000 miles. I tried the cruise control only once since I bought the bike. It seemed to work as expected about a month ago, but today when I turned it on NOTHING. No indication on the display at all. Just dead. Is this a common...

Crazy Idea to get rid of the hot foot

No Plumbing thoughts at this time. When I think about all the work of pulling the trunk and all the covers plus down time for experimentation, My thoughts quickly return to just going for a ride instead. Meanwhile winter is coming, and at least my feet will be warm.

Crazy Idea to get rid of the hot foot

I was trying to come up with an idea to eliminate the heat problem on the RT. This would require a big pair to say the least, not to mention some good wrench skills. This is what I came up with. Add a second radiator of similar size mounted side ways into the reworked trunk, plumb it into the...

    Heads-Up Garmin Zumo 660 GPS

A true heads up display projects the information on to the windshield and allows the viewer to look through the display which allows the viewer to never take his eyes off of what is in front of him. Not to be confused with a small device mounted closer to windshield height. A few years back...
