There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Crazy Idea to get rid of the hot foot

I was trying to come up with an idea to eliminate the heat problem on the RT. This would require a big pair to say the least, not to mention some good wrench skills. This is what I came up with.
Add a second radiator of similar size mounted side ways into the reworked trunk, plumb it into the front radiator with a diverting valve so the flow can be controlled to either front or back. Remove the rear speakers and rework the housing to create duct work into the trunk. Mount a small axial fan on each side and wire them to the thermostatic temperature switch. With the fan mounted side ways there would still be room above it for some small trunk storage. In the summer the heat gets pushed out the back and for winter back to the front for those cold days when you need a hot foot.
Now all I need is to hit the Power Ball Lottery.:joke:

wow

WOW  :hun:
i think of crazy s##t like that too.
like stretching my gs twelve inches and adding forward controls.

I love out of the box thinkers and for that I salute you ......but I don't think any of the Spyder engines are overheating......it's the heat produced that's the problem.....and I don't think you have that solved.....Nice try though......PS try Water Wetter or Engine Ice......Mike...

How about amputation? No foot no heat problem. Actually what is really needed is a scientific study of where the heat is directed to, ie the standard foot peg or forward foot rests. also the effects of the various diversion applications etc.

On the other hand I don't hear too many heat related complaints in the winter. Since summer is two or three months and winter is around fie or six months around here it's not a bad trade off.

 :hun::wrong: Figuring out the routing of the plumbing might just be the toughest part of this battle... Have you worked up any ideas yet?
:firstplace: for out of the box thinking!

No Plumbing thoughts at this time. When I think about all the work of pulling the trunk and all the covers plus down time for experimentation, My thoughts quickly return to just going for a ride instead. Meanwhile winter is coming, and at least my feet will be warm.

Ta da......now I understand your other post.......:roflblack::roflblack::roflblack:

How about just adding a radiator to the front like these Rotax powered Sand-X units..... ;)

0 to 60 in 2.8 seconds...... in the sand.......

Protecting those fragile radiators was never high on their list; was it?
Did you know that the 800 and 1000cc Can Am ATVs have trouble keeping cool at low speeds on the trail? I've got a biddy who's working on mounting a fan in the bodywork under the front rack to increase airflow.
Do you think that some extra fans might just increase the flow enough to get the heat out and around the riders? :dontknow:

Thinking Outside the Box

"Crazy Idea to get rid of the hot foot"........sometimes the simplest solution is right in front of your face? REMOVE THE FOOT people!:dontknow: Is it just me or WTF, quit over complicating the issue.
