• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    HID throughing code

when I installed them they worked great for over a year but now they are causing a code to be thrown. I know when I bought them there was an option for something to prevent this but I cannot even remember who I bought them from. Anyone else have the same problems and if so what did you do?

    Polaris Slingshot

I have owned a 2011 and 2014 Spyder Canam and really enjoyed them but it was time for change so I bought a 2016.5 Sl slingshot. I have had back surgery and have a bad hip and tail bone but after getting in and out a few times it is easier than the Canam. My hip would hurt like hell when I...

    Oyster Run Breakfast

I should be there before 8:30 to join the ride in.

What is the "resonator" for ?

The resonator acts like a muffler for the intake, without it the sound of the intake is very loud and annoying to me. It did not change the power or cooling on my 2011 RT. It does make access easier with out it and it is tricky to get in in and out but I have done it several times so it is doable.

Is there enough power in the 998cc

Head to head, simularily loaded I raced my friends 2011 with my 2014. I was only a few feet ahead of him by the time we hit 70 so using the gears/rpm there is not much difference. The 14 cruises at a much lower RPM and is torquier when at lower RPM as well. The 998 is a great engine.

    Cooling Vest

My set up is from COOL Shirt but Veskimo is similar. Its not cheap but it works very well. By keeping the upper torso cool, it keeps the whole body comfortable. The heat is removed from the blood stream which is then recirculated throughout my whole body. I originally bought the soft cooler...

Anyone made a Spyder Auxiliary fuel tank?

Unfortunately there is no place to add a aux. fuel cell anywhere under the tupperware so any extra fuel has to be carried either in a storage compartment or somewhere on the surface of the bike. I have the 1330 but there are occasions when I have stretched the ride to far and I start to worry...

    Cooling Vest

Well it has been hot here in the northwest, while not as hot as Las Vegas for example, we have been hitting the mid to high 80's. I took my Spyder out both Saturday/Sunday and had another opportunity to use the Cool Vest setup which consists of a vest that contains multiple cooling tubes sown...

    Wireless Controller for heated gear

I use the wireless controller and have since I bought my 2011 and now my 2014 RT. No Problems related the DESS but, I made sure the powder that goes to the clothing is isolated via a relay and a diode.

    Veskimo Endurance

Since you have to have a quart of liquid you would need to be careful you did not freeze it. I believe mine said a small piece of dry ice and be added but I have not tried it. I would not worry about the carbon dioxide, you could not get a concentrated amount with the lid closed.

    "WOW" factor ideas?

For factory improvements: A miles per gallon readout would be great, its pretty much standard equipment on most vehicles and a lot of bikes. A bit wider brake pedal for those panic stops Third brake light A better stereo system that is loud enough to hear at freeways speeds More power or...

    The couple that sweats together...

Get a product called "Cool Shirt". It is a personal air conditioner that circulates ice water through a vest. I have one and love it, you will have to be creative if your riding two up to find a place for the cooler but it very doable. I rode in 100 degree weather earlier this year and kept...

Thanks to Life Styles Honda in Mt. Vernon WA

They are a great dealership, the owner (Greg) goes out his way to help and all of the staff are great to work with. I have puchased 2 spyders from them since 2011 and should I decide to upgrade I would not hesitate to return.

Thanks to Life Styles Honda in Mt. Vernon WA

On Saturday the 30th of September they held a BBQ and awarded prizes for several different categories, including "most bling" for which I won a $250 gift certificate. Over 40 Spyders showed up and the day was a great success! I want to thank the owner, the staff and the family members that...

where can i tap into the "accessory" positive lead?

The best way to do that is to tap any line that is hot with key on (park lights for example) and install a relay that pulls the power directly from the battery. I would install a fuse between the relay and the radio to protect the wiring. Relays take very little power to operate so it will not...
