• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

BRP Trailer Hitch and Harness

I have a 2012 RT. Looking to upgrade to a 2014 RT-S.

Will the hitch and harness transfer over, or does the 2014 use something different?

Yes you should be able to transfer it over. Over the years the output end of the wiring harness has changed. But how it plugs into the Spyder has not.

I understand the hitch itself will not transfer without modification because of the new Brembo brake caliper setup.

Yes it will transfer to the 2014 RT just fine. I just did the same thing from the 2012 RTL to 2015 RT-SS. Everything plugged in just fine, plug-and-play.

Also the hitch went on with no modification just be careful of the brake lines on the right-hand side when you're installing the hitch.

I'm hearing conflicting reports over whether the 2012 hitch and module will work on the 2014 RT.

Looking at the hitch and module that I have installed on my 2012 -- part # 219400432, is the same kit as specified for the 2014 on the BRP store web site, why would there be any confusion?

Any ideas?

Just trying to get my ducks in a row before I take ownership of my new 2014 RT-S next week.

Trust me the hitch itself from all years will transfer over. I know someone that put a 2010 hitch on a 2015 no issue. Wiring harness was different. As Billy said, later model hitch wiring should be the same. It's the 2010-2011 hitch wiring that was a pain in the A**.

In general those that don't know what they are talking about cause confusion. So ignore them.
