Tailgunner Exhaust

I hope to have pictures up soon but here are my thoughts so far on the Tailgunner Exhaust:

Customer Service: FAIL. Charlie has no business being in customer service. He failed to send me the correct parts and then lied about what was included. The engineer, Cal, was great though. UPDATE. I should note that Charlie eventually made things right in the end. I still believe they need someone with better people skills answering the phones.

Performance: Pass. Feels just like the Micron and has a sound all its own (loud as Two-bros). I receive the same throttle response I did with the Micron which is vastly superior to stock.

Installation: Brutal. After I finally got the correct parts, I found it would not mount correctly with the Bushtec hitch. I had to fab an extension to get it to hang correctly. Exhaust mounting should not take 10+ hours!

Cool Factor: Can't beat it. Even after all the crap I went through and the ridiculous price I paid, it's still the coolest damn exhaust on the market.

Your customer service notations are why after they read me and Lamonster the riot act for Lamonsters Youtube video, we stopped having anything to do with them. :yikes:

Too bad, because if they kept working with us I could have made sure the design did not take 10 hours to install, and that the box had ALL the right parts in it the first time. :gaah:

But, what do Lamonster and I know about customer service or Spyder parts design? :dontknow:

NIce looking exhaust, Lamont. Cut the loudness in half and then maybe..

As far as making my HD buddys bikes sound like Vespas, pretty much any Milwaukee iron rider in the Seattle area wont even glance at a Spyder for fear of...I dont know what. I think its great.:yes: I smile and wave like a nutcase every time I see a bunch of em and..nothing. I guess they must be due for eye exams!!

I would like to point out that the Tailgunner muffler supplied in the original video was the very first Tailgunner muffler produced for the Spyder. It was a prototype. It was not intended to be a finished product or a direct fit kit. The poor customer service the member mentions refers to the request from Tailgunner to remove the video from youtube, as it was not an accurate representation with regard to sound, performance or fitment. Tailgunner was aware that it would take time to create superb product and did not want a misrepresentation to be made via the very first test model. The new line of Tailgunners for Spyders will be available shortly. They include: Black Widow, Widow maker, Recluse and Black Recluse. The new Tailgunners for Spyder offer great performance, an aggressive yet tolerable sound and unique style. We look forward to joining the Spyder community. Thank you.
