There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. What is the average cost of insuring a Spyder?

Thanks!

I pay around $500.00 a year on my 2011 RS-S SE5, I had Foremost before and they were much high, with Nationwide I have a better plan for less.
You must shop around. I shop every year, times are tough they want your money. That's IMHO.

Unfortunately, your question is almost as hard to answer meaningfully as would be to say what the average size of an afternoon billowy cloud is! This has been discussed before and the answers vary from $300 to $1300 per year, depending largely on where you live. Do a search on insurance. You'll find lot's of comments about prices paid.

I pay about $300/year for both the Spyder and an ATV.

With who? What kind of coverage?

Straight from my policy page at Geico. Total annual premium for the Spyder is $248. My car insurance is with them also so I multi-vehicle discount.
For Others

The below coverages pay out to other parties if the accident is your fault.

Bodily Injury Liability ?
$34.00, $100,000 per person/$300,000 per occurrence

Pays if you are responsible for another person's injury or death in an auto accident. It also pays for your legal defense.

Property Damage Liability ?
$11.00, $50,000 per occurrence

Pays if you are responsible for damage to another person's property.

For You
The below coverages pay out to you and your passengers.
Uninsured Motorist Bodily Injury ?
$0.00, I Reject this Coverage

Pays for your injuries caused by a driver without insurance.

Underinsured Motorist ?
$26.00, $25,000 per person/$50,000 per occurrence

Pays for injuries caused by drivers who don't carry enough coverage to pay for the amount of damage they caused.

It is not so much what you pay for the insurance but what they pay you if an accident occurs or how much hassle it is settling with them. I pay more attention to the insurance company's rating than what the cost of the insurance is.

Maybe Bob can chime in here.

There is no meaningful premium amount, that can be considered as "average".
Insurance rates are determined by a host of variables:
Age
Marital Status
Driving Experience
Driving Record
Credit Reports
Your Location
Your Vehicle
Your Selected Coverages...

:shocked::shocked::shocked::shocked:

Your best bet, is to contact an Independent Insurance Agent in your location, and have them shop around for you.

This is 100% correct and I will add that you need to shop around. Different insurance companies target different demographic categories. For instance, a married 40 something without kids (that would be me) might get the best rate from company X but company Y will give that best rate to people over 50 with children. Obviously your risk assessment (accidents, tickets, dui's, etc) will be a factor as well.

Just to add another person's experience to your data, I pay about $600 a year to insure an FZ1, Ninja 650R and an F3s for my wife and I. I have been with Progressive since 2006 and am a "diamond member" because of it which gets me things like free accessory coverage and accident forgiveness. Because of my profession, I carry a lot of coverage. Regardless of what you do, I suggest at least 100k/300k in uninsured/underinsured motorist coverage. This will require you to buy the same amount of bodily injury liability coverage, but having seen many people who were severely injured in accidents, you can only access as much money as there is to be had. Most people don't carry much coverage and when theirs runs out, the UM kicks in.

Good luck.

+1 :agree: Well said. Good recommendation for minimum coverage. In today's society with all the Injury Lawyers advertising on TV and radio you can't be too careful. FWIW, I carry 500K/500K for $56.00/month with Dairyland on my '15RT Limited. In my area both Progressive and Geico were very high(nearly double). AARP/Foremost was my #2 choice. Just proves, once again, it's all about Location, Location, Location.

This is like asking what is the average cost of a Spyder? It depends on what level of coverage you choose, your driving record, and where you live.. There is no such thing as full coverage.. -- only different levels of coverage. You can always obtain more coverage if you are willing to pay more and get lower price if you are willing to lower your coverage limits

Depends on.....

City, State or Province
Driver's age
Driver's driving record and prior history
Amount of coverage
Year and model of Spyder
Estimated annual mileage to be driven
Stored indoors or out

Not to be critical but this is almost like asking how high is up?

That is a hell of a deal, I have more coverage limits, but I pay $800+, So I will be shopping next time. I'm still trying to sell my RSS, so I have that on top of the $800.

In Manitoba, Canada we pay $1,400. To cover 5 months of during time !! Some times the weather cooperates and we can ryde in April !! I have a great driving record and this is the high cost of having 5 million third party coverage. It is worth every penny to ryde my spider.:f_spider:

Keep in mind rates vary by; State; sex, age, type of Spyder, driving record, credit record, etc.

I had Progressive at 298.00 a year.

Just switched to Markel (I believe a subsidary of Daryland)...they specialize in recreatinal vehicles:
$215.00 a year, full coverage. Towing is an additional 15.00 but I am covered under the Spyder Warranty for towing for 36 months....when that runs out then I will add towing coverage.

I am happy with that ! :yes::thumbup::clap:
