drink/water bottle holder

I've had my spyder for about a month now. Have made two 200+ mile road trips just around the area we live in.

Being in Texas, where the summer rides can be brutal, I've been wondering what ya'll have improvised or purchased to hold a water bottle or drink. Need that water at stops and don't want to have to mess with a fanny pack or getting off the spyder.

Any suggestions?

A good bottle/hot cup holder

I put this one on a couple thousand miles ago and I love it. Once I had it where I wanted it a used a 1/8" self taping hex head screw to mount it so that it could not be removed. but the clip was more than strong enough to hold a big bottle of water with out the screw.

I have one set up on my Spyder from Ram Mount. Here are some attempts at photos but the lighting is really bad.

I really like it. It works with my half helmet but I need to find a water bottle with a straw for my full face helmet.

Personally on long rides, I prefer a Camelbak system. http://www.camelbak.com/ The mouth piece fits easily under a full face helmet. If you check the cycling section of a big box sporting goods store, there are cheap knock-offs that work as well.

Where do you find Ram Mount for Spyder RT?

I had a Ram Mount cup holder on my Victory that I just traded in for a Spyder RT. I've searched Ram's website and was not successful in finding a handlebar mount for the Spyder. Can you please tell me where I can find it?:banghead:

Can't use because of full face Helmut. Could use a Camelback though. At my age I like to stop every 50-75 miles and stretch my artificial body parts, get my water bottle out of the top case, take a drink and look for a place to tinkle.

Besides I do not want to look like a Gold Wing rider. Harley Riders have a thing about this!:joke:

My Kawasaki Concours riding sone gives me a lot of crap about looking like a geezer tourer with this http://store.valueaccessories.net/SpyderDrinkHolder.aspx but it fits neatly on my left passenger handhold where I can easily reach it.

As a long time bicyclist I also favor a Camelbak. You can by an accessory for them called a tube director http://www.rei.com/search.html?ir=q:tube+director&page=1&q=tube+director that has a flexible wire in the tube insulation that you can bend to fit any contour and you can adjust it to rest just under the bottom of a full face helmet. You can they push it up under the helmet to take a swig.

You asked about a Ram Ball mount. This is what I did for not a lot of coin. It was supposed to to be a temp mount, but I used it enough that I left it there all the time. Make sure you get a SS clamp or powder coat the steel one so there is no rust.
