• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Visited this store in Thunder Bay and owner informed us she was going to get one of these when she retires. She then left the store and promptly climbed on my RT and said take my picture. Gotta love our Canadian friends.

The other is just outside Rossport the northern point of our
lake Superior tour

Thunder Bay has a Can AM dealer on the northern edge of town at an farm equipment store. We stopped in there and talked briefly to a woman working there. She said they sell several spyders each month. We were there 3 days and must have seen at least 1/2 dozen spyders. Also went to the amethyst mine which supports the store in your picture.

Bumping this thread up. I think we're going to do this in mid June. I got 9 days to play with. Don't like sitting on the beach and hate heat and can't stand cities so I think this is our adventure. We're going to drive over the Mackinaw bridge as part of the deal too. We'll definitely document it with photos (and share with the spyder crew) :ohyea:

This is something on my list to do. If it fit in my schedule I would like to join in.

We were recommended to travel clockwise, so Superior is always on your right for most unobstructed view.

A = Petoskey MI
B = Grand Marais, MI
C = Baraga, MI
D = Ashland, WI
E = Lutsen, MN
D = Thunder Bay
E = Rossport, ON
F = White River, ON
G = Wawa, ON
H = Sault Ste. Marie, MI
I = Petoskey, MI

PM me for map, too large for site to download.
I lived on the the North Shore of Lake Superior for 22 years. Beautiful country. On your drive from Thunder Bay to White River make sure to plan for lunch in a beautiful little town called Terrace Bay. Drifters restaurant has great food and overlooks Lake Superior. Bring a gallon or two of extra gas because there are some long stretches in between fill ups. Coming from the west approaching Old Woman Bay going down the hill is the best view in my opinion. its before you get to Sault Saint Marie. Would recommend this route to all members in the east.

We actually want to take this trip solo on the bike together. Sorry if I led anyone on. I'd be game to meet up just not looking for traveling companions. I'm digging for all advice out there though. Lewiston looks like a great area but we'll be coming up through Minnesota and beginning the adventure clockwise around the lake. Don't know if we'll travel that far into lower Michigan
