I've been wrestling this pig ever since a got my 590 after a 7 month wait for the Tri-Axis bars mount. Here's a link in which finless Bob and Billybovine provided some sage advice.

I am presently at what I believe is about 75% but am still not banging on all cylinders because I can't listen to the radio through the headset. Before getting the 590 in the circuit I had my Sena SMH10 headset and SM10 Bluetooth dongle. I could listen through my headset to all my Spyder's radio frequencies, use my iPhone 5S and play iPhone music on the radio Aux input using the 30-pin connector in the trunk and a 30-pin to lightning plug connector cable. Introduce the 590 and things got really squirrelly. Look at Billy's sequence of pairings. I followed them precisely without a lot of success because following them I lost they GPS turn by turn directions although I could hear music played through my iPhone. I went back to the SMH10 Owner's Guide and reexamined the pairing steps. The best success I've had thus far came this afternoon after I downloaded a bunch of MP3 format music to a micro SD card I installed in the 590. I can now play music on the 590 Media app, use my phone through the 590 phone app and get turn by turn directions from the GPS. Still no radio through the headset, but to get around that for the trip to Spyderfest I turned on the external speakers and just muted the volume. Want that weather station! I dropped a ticket with Sena today but won't hold my breath. The attached file is the step by step process I followed to get to where I am. Specifically the steps are from sections 6.1, 6.2 and 6.4.2, respectively of the SMH10 Owner's Guide. Walking through the guide I found the Section 6.4.2 step brought out the MP3 media app and the turn by turn GPS directions. Hope this helps, but I'm a real amateur on this Bluetooth pairing stuff.
