• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Spyder F3 Driver Backrest Install Help

Installed the driver backrest on my NEW Pearl White F3-S, and noticed considerable "play" in the position of the backrest. Moves side-by-side about 2". Expected something a little more secure than that.

What did I miss? Something gone wrong on the install? Anyone else notice this?

Thanks in advance...

mine doesn't do that. did you install the plastic piece under the seat first. if so make sure it's pushed down all the way.

mine has absolutely no movement at all! definitely something wrong!!! there was a recall, but I think it was only for red Loctite to be affixed to the two side screws!

Don't know..!!

Never done your type but from experience taking it back off and starting over, knowing the issue, makes you more aware of what to look for when re-installing it..:gaah:

f3 drivers backrest woobly

I just picked up my f3 today and had dealer install drivers backrest, its loose and moves from side to side. Does anyone have pictures of install from BRP that they could email me,or better yet actual picture or video of install.
The dealer said this was his first one and doesnt know why its loose.

If your talking about the drivers backrest, it should move back and forth but not side to side. You can adjust the back and forth by a little screw on the stem of the back rest. Its under the material in a slit.

Does anyone know if this backrest locks in or just comes out freely

the "lock" is actually a nut and blot. with the seats on you wouldn't be able to pull it out.
So I don't see a place for nut and bolt... smooth rod with two lines near bottom that slides into a holding piece but it won't latch or lock down

they go right through that hole. then when the seat is reinstalled there is no way to pull the backrest out.
Ok thank you, I guess he just didn't put a bolt on there... I suppose any kind could work
