• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

grumpybob,

I know you're into the dog agility competition. Are the competition events breed specific, size specific, or weight specific?

Hi, it is determined by height. Dogs are measured at the shoulder * put in a height group. it is broken down in 4,8,12,16,20,& 26 inches. the height determines the jump height, table height , tire, height & the height of the a-frame the dog will have to do. Their is also a preferred height, this means you have the option of running your dog in 1 height class lower than they measure for. you can always go up in height class with no limit. A standard Course time is calculated based on the number of yards the course is. Preferred classes get 5 more seconds, (I think) to complete the same course. IE a 16" dog running 12" preferred has extra time. Seems complicated when first starting, thou it is straight forward.

There are 2 comp. around Syr. in May. If you are interested stop & watch a few different classes. What breed of dog are you going to run if so?

Thanks..!!

did not know all that. Love dog and the shows and competitions. this was very informative. I really like the sheep herding...

There is so much to do with a dog now that you can't do it all. My two Icelandic sheepdogs took a Herding test when they were 1 yr. old & passed the first time. No herding in my area or they would get to herd. My male is great at Agility, I wish I was as good as he is. Nan's female is right behind him, & is kicking Trolli & my butt so far this year, all my fault for not handling him correctly.
