Just wanted to give an update on how our Solar Panels are doing. The following shows what our "budget payments" were back starting in June of 2014 and what they were reduced to after the solar panels were installed in late July. We still had the $190 budget payment to pay in August and then $163 in September to pay off the balance of our electric bill because our $190 payment was not keeping up with with our bills. Then after that our bill went to $16.08 "service charge" for the privilege of being hooked up to the grid. The $0 and $5.12 were adjustments to the bill because of how they figure the budget...I guess. Then because of our "bank" of KWH we were never back on the grid for usage until the January and February bills and they were, as you can see only a fraction of what they had been before our solar installation. Our March bill we will be back to the $16.08 because we already have banked about 380 KWHs and I don't expect that we will ever be back on the grid because we will have the whole year to build up our "bank" instead of like last year when we were only on "Solar" from the 3rd week of July.
We have saved hundreds of dollars just this year even figuring in our lease payment. Also we will never have to worry about the constant increases in electric rates as we always have in the past. Our lease payment is locked in for the 20 year lease agreement and can never increase.
I know when I brought this up on the forum last July things got a little heated about all the negative comments that were made. I just wanted to say I could not be happier about our decision of "going Solar"!!!:thumbup:
