Thanks again to Dave at Rob's Performance for delivering my F3-S last Thursday!! It's been really fun since then! Took it out for an initial spin that night and put on about 40 miles. This thing is so simple to drive, and so very easy to control and have fun with! Went pretty easy on it since it was my first ride on it, but just wanted to see how it was, boy was it a blast. Took it on various types of roads and used different revs and speeds to follow a proper break-in! Going to be pretty enjoyable I think!
The next day was a little chilly, ok, it was freakin cold, about 43 degrees, the day before was almost 70, crazy WI spring!!! Still did a short ride and decided I should practice some of the things I had read in the manual. That was interesting and helpful! Would recommend other new owners, especially those with no previous Spyder experience to do the same, it's pretty helpful in learning the bike's mannerisms. Put in about 20 miles, or so.
Had to run some errands today, so I decided to take the F3 instead of my Durango today. Even though it was about 45 degrees, it was supposed to be warmer later, so I decided to go for it. Glad that I did, but needed to stop and purchase some better cold weather gloves, the ones I had weren't warm enough!! I was wearing a pair of glove liners and gloves, and two layers weren't enough this morning!! Buzzed all around today, boy is this thing fun! Took almost no time for me to get really comfortable on it, and I'm convinced that anyone can ride an F3, it's really that easy! The one thing that will take some getting used to is everyone coming up to me and wanting to talk about it! It's like that almost everywhere I stopped today! Every age group and gender! Everyone was really complimentary and asked me how it was to ride! The attention is fun now, but I'm hoping that it doesn't get old!
The acceleration is sick! You can be going a lot quicker than you think and it's really easy to do!:yes: But it's so smooth doing it, it's really deceptive. I found myself really adjusting to the cornering technique and it's actually really easy to do once you get the hang of it. Also, I discovered that you don't have to lean much at all if its not your thing. Just won't be able to take the corners quite as quickly!
Overall, it was a really fun day with my F3!! Put on about 130 miles, and it was pure joy and really fun. Hated to put it away for the day!
Will be riding more tomorrow again, weather permitting!:clap:
