• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Faded black plastic parts.

I saw used Spyders at a dealer in Florida where the plastic parts were faded and discoloured from the sun. What do you guys use to prevent this. My first guess would be 303 spray.

Someone please do something about this heat....bike read 93 degrees yesterday!:ohyea:

Cheers

I have been using New Vinyl on my plastic. Unlike armor all, it doesn't leave a oil or anything behind.

BUT when parked for extended periods in the sun, I use a light cover.
I am using the RSS cover believe it or not. It covers the entire spyder except for the front fenders. Goes on and off super easy.

Easy...

Don't leave it in the sun. :roflblack: probably a lot of products out there but a cover would be the best if you have to leave it in the sun constantly. I use plexus or similar spray on cleaners and the only faded parts are the needle indicators on the guages (can't get to them).

I've got an easy fix for your problem. Move up North and enjoy the cold, ice and snow!!!!!!!!!! we don't have a fading problem???????

Your first guess of 303 Protectant is probably as good as anything and better than most. It isn't just Spyders that suffer from this. Cars too.

Armor All is a different formulation and not as effective as 303 IMHO. No matter what you use, you will have to repeat the process cause nothing is stronger than that sun.

I agree. Mother's Back to Black is excellent.

I saved about $1000 on my Piaggio. When I bought it the plastic looked all grey and dry. Mother's makes it shine.
