• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Vertika 2013 RTs

Has anyone modified a 2013 RT with Vertika's cooling options? Did it work? Cost?

I recently saw a low milage used 2013 RT LTD on a local CraigsList for $12500 OBO, and some dealers won't even take one as a trade-in.

If the Vertika system works, and isn't too expensive, that might be a good option for an entry level RT -

Just curious - might offer an interesting investment/project for some of our more entrepreneurial members....

I'd save my money and do one of JT's Air Filter, a CAT Bypass and then some Baker Wings. You'd come out way ahead and most likely have a bike that runs cooler.

i put them on the bike, they cost me 2500 plus painting another 500 and they worked but to a point for me

We put Vertika intakes on my wife's first RT back in 2010.View attachment 102166View attachment 102167View attachment 102168The early 10's ran hot too. The Vertika stuff looked great but didn't solve the heat problem.

The were and are very expensive.

$3000 to try and make it less hot? my brother has an 2012 RT that we put one blocker plate on for maybe $50 that made a big difference. I almost burned my damn left leg off riding it one time when it was round 100 outside and i had shorts on so is the same problem that everyone is talking about on the 13s?

just remember it is how much heat each person can take. i have bad feet due to diabetes and my feet couldn't handle the heat at all. spyderman however feels some heat but he can take it with lil to no problems

Hey, yea i have the bike & yes i love it, the heat is annoying but i can take it, i also wear full gear pants & jacket included
at all times. since i never owned the bike without the mods he did i have no comparison. if it is too hot out i ride my yamaha.
this year i will be going on 2 trips with it so i will know more about the heat issues & other problems.
right now with 30 degrees & ice & snow outside i am not worried about heat problems.

LOL i pretty much do the same thing, after riding his in that heat if its too hot i will take my Yamaha and bought the spyder for mostly 2 up trips although i do use it to goto the store and errands that i normally would have taken my car. As for the heat man it was unbearable but again as you pointed out i was not wearing any gear because it was so hot outside. one we put the blocker plate on it will still get hot but not bad enough to turn my calf pink like last time!

I agree that Vertika parts are expensive, but $12K for a nice RT, $2500 for some neat parts and paint, $1000 for a R77 and CAT delete, and your out under $16K, or what they are asking for used 11s or 12s with more milage... Just a thought...
