• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

So long RT...

Ah well...

looks like it's time for a signature change...:roflblack: congrats on your new ryde..:2thumbs::ohyea:

Thanks all. I'm sure this will be fun to ride.

I know I read this somewhere here, but around what RPM should it need to be before shifting?

2500 to 3000

That seems to be where most are shifting their 1330 Triples but there is a bigger hit of power above 4000 and up to about 6000 or so. Maybe for passing etc.

:congrats: on your new F3. You will need to experiment to find the sweetspot on your F3. I use 3000 - 3500 on my 2014 RTS. I am not an aggressive driver. If you really need to move fast for a pass or an avoid, there is plenty of reserve power to get up and go just by cranking the throttle.

I am guessing that F3 owners are going to drive a bit more aggressive and we will be hearing what the preference is there. I am also guessing 4000 +.

I think you're right -- I would not shift as low as 3000, I've been shifting somewhere between 3500-4000. Some speed limits (like 35 mph) cause travel at that "do I shift now or just hang out here?" rpm of 3400-3600. I've done both, and haven't decided yet whether to shift or not, though the engine sounds more comfortable and drops to 3000 if I do shift. When taking off from a light, it's definitely 4000+ for the shift points.
